I’ve questioned Chris on these topics before, across several threads that he and I had both posted in.  I suspect he’s read them.

As to Dave’s “empty box,” it isn’t empty and herculean effort  like your matter of “changing a CMS” is not necessary.  Five minutes would do it.

I was thinking Chris would simply have posted the next article to “Dave’s forum.”  The title would have been, “Thanks for the memories” or “Special Announcement,” something that communicated change to members, demonstrated leadership and avoided the appearance of abandonment front and center on the home page.

Chris has been critical of our leaders during the pandemic. Words matter, words like leadership and integrity.  Chris stopped leading, he stopped communicating.  Chris led us onto the battlefield and then, abandoned everyone?

I’m reminded of Army lieutenant general Hal Moore who fought with his troops in the Battle of Ia Drang in 1965, during the Vietnam War.  A movie with Mel Gibson depicts then Col Moore as the first to step onto the battlefield and the last to leave it. Literally.  He was “with his men.”  Fought with his team,  I feel abandoned and I imagine many here at Peak Prosperity, partners, paying customers,  community members, feel similarly.

I simply don’t believe you, Chris.

    Soon Chuck, soon.

That’s all I can say at present.

Why is this, Chris? Here you are posting, replying in fact.  What is preventing you from taking just one more, tiny step.

You are simply “too busy” to say thank you much less make a simple change to the front page?

It happened for the “new direction” announcement and again for your “hiring” announcement.

Why didn’t you publicly acknowledging that a feature of the site, GOLD & SILVER UPDATE, has ended after basically an 8-year run of daily effort?

    • Why has there been ZERO communication about this from either you or Adam?
    • Why is “Dave’s Box” sitting on the front page, essentially abandoned?
    • Why didn’t you replace his last article with a BIG TEXT headline like you posted for hiring a new person?

You have posted, Chris, and you are clearly following along here.  So how does your working feverishly, or almost, prevent you from telling us that Dave’s column has come to an end, or to simply take a precious moment of your time to publicly say thanks?

Can you tell I’m disappointed in you Chris?  If not, let me be more direct.

Chris, I am disappointed in you.

    David

      There is no active leadership

    There is no active leadership

Agreed.  More telling to me is zero communication.  This really bothers me. Not knowing who I have been contributing financially bothers me the most and it is on me.  DD.  I blew it.  My own fault.

My new DD equation: communication + leadership = integrity

where integrity = “the quality or state of being complete or undivided”

This site and its leaders have traded away their integrity for reasons I do not understand.  If the site was complete it is no longer.  If the leaders were united they are no longer.

Truth is truth, whether stated, written, spoken, hidden, no matter.

Dave, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you have done here at PP.  I am most grateful and terribly disappointed your column has ended without so much as a by-the-way from our “leaders.”

Everyone will buy bitcoin at some point

    Nice work @sand_puppy.  You wrote

The only question is at what stage of the conflagration will we act.

There is some line at which point you’re talking reaction as compared to preparation like you write about.  I like your idea of already knowing about a concept, even practicing it.

We can act now and many of us already have, as you know.  The rest of the world may catch on sooner than we think.  For example, several companies are offering crypto credit cards and debit cards.   Each has its own withdrawal and charge limits.  You deposit BTC or LTC and the crypto is converted at point of sale into USD.

Almost anyone can open a Bitcoin or Litecoin account, hold wealth denominated in these assets and charge goods and services against it within minutes.

      EUA

I have been wondering for some time how “we” square all this knowing the vaccines were developed to seek EUAs.  Will we never again develop a vaccine the “old fashioned way?” You know, where we do all the things medicine and science demanded until now?  Are we to live in an “emergency” for the rest of time?

I’m following along Sand Puppy, fun and all, but wouldn’t grandpa be doing his granddaughter a bigger favor if he left her a letter instead?  In it he might explain that

purchases –like a magic hair brush

are the things of fairy tales.  Then he could share the secret to all of life with her, that she has always been able to create her own magic hair brush, all by herself.  Grandpa would say that she cannot purchase the brush, no matter how much wealth she inherits.

Letting the mighty steed pass for now, surely the granddaughter deserves her mighty steed. The castle, though, that’s a problem.

Everyone will know she has great wealth, and they will know where she keeps her most prized of all possessions too.  Ah, not sure if it is the brush or the horse.  No matter.

I think we can pretty much agree that if she needs a hundred bowman to protect her horse and brush grandpa hasn’t really done her any favors.

Oligarch — how to get their attention

Nothing gets your tech Oligarch’s attention like a brisk 20% drop in your net worth in a single month

    Classic.

Thanks again, Dave.  You know where to find us.   Have fun on your vaca and “don’t forget to write!”

I have rounds from goldismoney.com — from their before site.  Members designed and minted the rounds.  It was great fun.

      Token of membership

If “we” are melting down bars, how about minting some one ounce rounds, a gift to members for renewing subscriptions, say, or rewards for writing a column?!  Guest speakers might deserve a round or two.  We’d need a design contest for the obverse?
