Friedrichs_teeth, I agree that Doug Ford has been terrible throughout the pandemic. It is shocking the policies that he has implemented including aiming to limit people’s mobility as a way of helping to stop the pandemic.
O’Toole at least said he would respect people’s right to choose whether to get vaccinated or not and would provide unvaccinated people with other options to be able to board a plane, train, etc. domestically. If Trudeau wins again, he will implement mandatory vaccination for Federal workers, implement vaccine passports for all domestic travel by air, train, and boat, and get all of the provinces to implement an electronic vaccine passport system with the new billion dollar vaccine passport fund that he is touting. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if he also started relentlessly encouraging employers to do mandatory vaccinations of their employees, even though that is illegal.
That is why I am voting for O’Toole. I think unvaccinated people will be able to not have to worry so much about rights being taken away if he wins. It may not be the best option but in my mind it’s the only option with a viable chance of stopping Trudeau from the insane measures he wants to implement. I’m sure the NDP would be even worse and no other party stands a chance of winning.
Hotsauce, I also intend to vote for the Convservative Party on Sept. 20 because they still respect freedom and people’s choice about getting vaccinated or not. Both the Liberals and NDP have gone off the rails on this issue. It would be scary if either the Liberals or NDP won.
westcoastjan, I know what you are saying, but realistically there will still be somebody that will win the September 20 election and if it is the Liberals or NDP, things will get significantly worse than they are right now. Please consider voting Conservative this time in addition to all of the other great things you are doing. That is the only party that has a chance of winning against the Liberals or NDP and they need as many votes as they can get. The Liberals or NDP would further destroy this country and that’s what will happen if the Conservatives don’t win.
This was excellent, thank you for posting it!
What about forming a master mind group that got together every so often on Zoom or a similar platform to help get more organized about working together and taking more concrete action steps? Just spitballing ideas here…
I do think there’s merit in trying to form strong local ties with business owners and others who don’t want to opt into these ridiculous things like vaccine passports, etc. Personal relationships can go a long way and you can develop a certain level of interdependence with the right group of people.
One of the issues is trying to find the others locally who are on the same page. I’m very glad to have found this community and I know of a few people in my local community who feel like I do but I imagine a lot of us probably feel stranded on an island in crazy land.
I agree, that’s a great idea TWalker. I would participate in that thread too.
Yes, once the vaccine gets approved in the US, it will likely soon be approved in other countries as well. This will then make it easier for the mandates. I really hope legal action and or the threat of legal action helps to push that back again. It would be great if all of this ultimately led to a Supreme Court decision in various countries that it is unethical for an employer to require this vaccination as a condition of employment.
Here’s another update. It still seems like the early treatment protocols are working well which is good.
FYI: “MATH+” is our ICU treatment protocol. It is not working very well In the late phases of disease, and it is distressing us. However early treatment is critical and working well to keep people away from the hospital. Use the I-MASK plus protocol For outpatients, critical!

Good for you for deciding to stand your ground, Sport. It is not right what they are doing. This is an important thing to stand up to and it takes bravery to do so in some cases. Not everyone who wants to will be able to. I wish you the best.
This whole thing has been scary for a while. I know for a fact that I will not ever be vaccinated regardless of what happens. If needed I believe I would be able to hide in plain site. It might help others to come up with a plan for how they could do that too if needed. One thing of course to consider in your own situations is how the government knows whether or not you are vaccinated and where you are located. Part of my plan involves help from people within my personal network.
