Brown County Prosperity Group

We wish to connect to those who are concerned with the detrimental changes taking place in society. We are not religious wild eyed conspiracy theorists but we do believe there is a massive conspiracy for control taking place in every area of society. It is our opinion that this assault on our freedom has to be understood from a combination of natural and spiritual perspectives.

Hi Kathy! Michigan is quiet! It's you and me!

Any specific discussions you'd like to see open up for Michiganders? Excited to see who will find/join us! What are your preparedness priorities? Our family has focused on the basics -- alternate location with shelter, food, sustainable future food, off-grid living and protection. It's always a pull as to where available resources should go next, right? I'm interested in hearing if anyone has dealt with their retirement savings yet -- as in self-directed precious metals so you can actually get them if the SHTF, etc.

Family Of 4 Lives 'Off The Grid' In The Middle Of The Desert

I'm gonna post a link to a Yahoo! Finance feature article (with pictures) on this guy, Abe Connally (34) and his wife Josie.

Very inspiring late Gen-X, early Gen-Y couple with two kids who managed to homestead in the Texas desert on very little. They grow most of their own vegetables, raise pigs, chicken, rabbits, etc. Rely on solar power and store their own water, etc.

Has anyone had problems with mites? We had trouble with them last year, and ended up culling our flock. This year will have new birds and a new coop! We really want to avoid mites again.

p.s. we used diatomaeceous (sp?) earth, but it was not effective on all the birds.

Sharing a chick order?

At some point beetween now and mid-summer I'd like to add to my chicken flock. It seems pullets in this area have become quite a bit more expensive (my old contact in Novato wants $40/pullet now...), so I am leaning towards buying chicks from McMurray Hatchery. There are minimum orders though, and they are much larger than I'd like. I wonder if anyone in this group would like to go in on a shared order? Or if someone else is already placing an order and I could add on? Or if someone is raising some chicks and will have pullets for sale at a good price, that would be great too.

Time to Order Your Chicks

Anyone ordering chicks or thinking about it?  Now is the time of year to start planning.

Check locally at your local farm/feed stores - they often carry chicks. If you live in the Northeast, contant your local Agway to see when they might be getting a shipment so you can reserve some.

Or place an order from a hatchery like Murray McMurray Hatchery. Note some breeds may be sold out for a month ahead so plan accordingly.

Welcome.  This forum is to provide an anonomous place to meet like minded people.  Then take it offline if applicable.  An objective is to prepare yourself and your family in case of a currency collapse.  If you are into mathematics or statistics, then you know what we are up against.  The "Amero" (or a new currency) will be implemented after our own currency collapses (likely scenario).  However, "when" it is implemented will be very carefully orchestrated to be when we are all out of resources.  Our objective is to not panic
