A good reminder that we need to be vigilant about the quality of our drinking water and have periodic checks of private water sources to ensure one's health and well being.

The article includes a nice interactive mapping feature to search for your location and get a baseline view of the issue.

One of the largest components of resiliency building is access to water.  For those with a well, a simple pump can be great investment to include in your overall plans for accessing water during a grid down situation or as a backup mechanical pump. Here is another sample with Engineer775 and a simple pump installation.

A great example of establishing water resiliency with a well and simple pump setup.

    From engineer775's YouTube Channel:

Here is a pump house/garden shed to protect the well plumbing and to house a manifold for an irrigation system and backup water supply. The retreat will be able to get water from the submersible pump on grid, generator off grid, simple pump manual handle or simple pump with 12v motor and Solar Charging batteries to run the motor and a 2500 gal. tank that is located 60 ft above the highest spigot so there can be a gravity fed water system for weeks at a time.
