That’s not what I’m promoting. The point of this thread is to show that the idea of a “free market” really is not possible due to certain characteristics of capitalism. Some intervention is necessary in order for democracy to work, as was shown in a recent post by Johnny Oxygen.
Capitalism, if left unregulated, leads to monopolies and gross disparities in wealth which ultimately bring the whole system down. Generating monetary profit for a few well-connected, wealthy elite cannot be the sole purpose of an economy.
