Yeah I’d agree with you that the national government is ensuring we are treated as children and stuck in #1.  If we had a constitutional society where local communities had the power and all the adults weren’t wasting their lives away to make money just to pay interest to the elite behind the Fed system, then we’d raise ourselves and our children and ensure we’re at #3.  That’s the system we’re going back to by the way.  That’s the sustainable community movement you see talked about on this site.  We are capable of being self-sufficient, and local community takes care of those who can’t take care of themselves.  National level government can’t do that.  And none of us really can "take care of ourselves"…we all need community…but real community, not national empire.
