Re: Social breakdown and the risk of violence
Re: your comment that: “I am afraid that there will be a forceful clash between capitalists and the general public if a dramatic change will not take place in the political sphere.” I think that you need not worry for a couple reasons: 1) the “general public” lives in a world of information and attention overload with little opportunity to know reality. Whether its video games, internet delivery of feel good messages, everyone progressively lives in a world of make believe. 2) The rich oligarchy that progressively control the government also control what the “general public” sees and hears in this overwhelming artificial reality. This (it seems) is not the deliberate heavy handed control carried out in China but instead more of a philosophy of “for the rich.” If there is scarcity, it is because the poor guy is lazy, and / or our enemies take too much. Expect the media to blame our troubles on China or some other outside force as needed (they always have done this, to support their wars). Docility and cooperation of the “general public” with the oligarch masters will replace reasoned analysis and informed anger. Most people already seem to bow in humility, reverence and awe when confronted in person with a rich oligarch (especially in the South). This is human nature. Confucious designed a whole society around it. Society (the “general public”) will become very stable with awe inspiring rich people (replace the golden carriage of old with jet plane, and limosines with body guards, for all family members). Of course, a minority of highly educated people who do not follow the herd well (most who join this forum perhaps?) will not play this way. I am interested to see what the educated elite make out of all of this. Will they establish confidential communications systems so that they can communicate and try to deal with this problem without evesdropping by private companies and government?
