    Re: Age and perspective

Nobody has the nerve to  just come out and say, “The elderly often don’t know what  theyr’e talking about” If you are Gen Y, just be grateful that your parents rebelled against this lot. Because their politics and insular world view (often racist and borderline fascist) wasn’t dismantled in the 60’s early 70’s, we are going to suffer through a future we didn’t choose.

That choice  was forclosed on when the Kennedy’s and King were assasinated. And why was Kennedy’s assasination never properly investigated? Because the generation in charge, “the greatest generation” were so successfully manipulated and couldn’t reason their way out of a paper bag. They acquiesced and they were in charge. So WE had to acquiesce.

Sorry, that’s how I feel. I don’t apologize for being a boomer, nor rebelling against the idiocy of the generation in charge. Yep, they won WW2 for us, to our advantage. Unfortunately they’ve seen every conflict since that time as being a mirror image of that conflict. They all want to  plant their little flags, Iwo Jima style, all over the collective consciousness of successive generations.

For all of their wisdom, how many people of that generation do you figure are alcoholics or borderline drunks? Just asking.
