There were a few inaccuracies in your post there, Aaron. Thermite is very easy to get. You can buy it on eBay if you want. The reason it is so easy to get is that it is used for welding.

And I gathered you are in the military so you probably are familiar with the thermitic reaction in the form of grenades that only produce heat. But thermite can be mixed to explode like a bomb as well. Just formulate it for whichever reaction you want.

And thermite is viewed differently by the ATF due to its variety of uses. They do not place tracers in it as they do other explosives. Since it is untraceable, that would probably be my choice if I wanted to bomb something (which I do not, Mr. ATF guy). 😉
