    OMG, Omicron!

Weekly Market Commentary 26 November 2021
    by davefairtex

The price movements this week were entirely dominated by what happened on Friday. OMICRON!

Let’s start with crude oil. Check out the $10 drop in the price of the master resource on the half-day of trading on Friday. It was a remarkable move. Crude is now in a reasonably strong downtrend.

On Tuesday, there was a crude oil rally following President Grandpa announcing a 50m barrel SPR release (8% of the total US emergency oil supply). Why would prices rally following an announcement of “more supply”? This happens a lot in markets. When prices move in opposition to where “common sense” suggests they should go (supply/demand says – more oil supply should move prices lower, but price rallied instead) – this means the “more supply” announcement was expected, but ended up being much less impressive than participants had feared. “Wow. I’m underwhelmed. BUY!” But of course this bullish move was totally overwhelmed by OMICRON on Friday.

The orchestrated OMICRON terror campaign caused crude prices to plunge, but this move wasn’t about energy overall. See what happened to natgas on Friday: +8.09%, a large move up. So while gasoline-to-travel will get cheaper, natgas to heat your home (or to run your local power plant) will become more expensive. +8% is a decent-sized move for natgas.

Gold spent most of the week selling off – on Friday it actually tried to rally, but the rally mostly failed. For the week, gold dropped -55.66 [-3.01%]. It is now right at the 200 & 50 MA lines.

The buck spent most of the week moving higher – right up until Friday, when it sold off hard [-0.80%]. The buck ended the week basically flat [+0.07%]; it remains in an uptrend – but Friday’s move could signal a bearish reversal. OMICRON appears to have caused money to flee the buck – moving back to plague-ridden (but really, lockdown-ridden) Europe. As always, its not the plague that matters, its the reaction to the plague that drives everything.

We saw a (very?) rare plunge in equities on Friday – SPX fell -2.20%, and it is now in a moderate downtrend. The VIX shot up +10 to 28.62. This was a very large move in the VIX. Money is leaving US equities, at least for now – I’m guessing that’s aligned with the drop in the buck also. OMICRON!

If we use the “Martin Armstrong” equity analysis: on Friday, NDX -2.09%, SPX -2.27%, DJI -2.53%, this suggests that a fair amount of the drop in equities had to do with international capital flows. DJI = international capital, NDX = domestic capital.

The 10-year treasury did very well on Friday, up +1.10% [10 year yield fell -16 bp to 1.48%] and probably printed a daily bullish reversal also. This suggests a flight to safety – at least domestically.

Finally, crappy debt: JNK fell -0.76% on Friday, and -1.31% on the week. Crappy debt really looks awful, and has for a while now. To me, this suggests a combination of rising rates, as well as (now) risk-off. Although – as the candle print suggests – this could be a low too. Its hard to say.

As for the rest of the items on Friday:

  • Miners: -1.73%
  • Silver: -1.90%
  • Lumber: -2.42%
  • Platinum: -2.70%
  • Copper: -4.44%
  • Palladium: -6.36%

So based on prices: market appears to be pricing in the possibility of some sort of US lockdown, and/or international travel restriction, because OMICRON! And the perceived difference between plague-infested Europe’s incredibly fascist “public health” policy overreaction (VAX MANDATES because BODIES are PILING UP outside HOSPITALS! Except – of course – not really) and the relative nirvana of the US’s return “back to normal” is being unwound.

OMICRON!

One interesting note: while crude dropped -13% on Friday, energy equities (XLE) fell just -4.02% – a much smaller move. To me, this suggests that the drop in the price of crude is seen by the market – as of now – as temporary.
Maybe just a trading opportunity? It’s hard to say.

The market agreed – it interpreted this U-turn as rate hikes coming sooner than previously expected.  Now: markets project a 63% chance of at least one rate hike by June 2022.

In Germany, it is definitely not a “pandemic of the unvaccinated.”  At least not according to the RKI, which actually tracks vaccine breakthroughs.  Unlike the CDC, which appears to be running a protection racket for “someone.”

Quick summary: in the 60+ group (the ones who actually might benefit from the shot), vaccination rates are: among symptomatic (71%), hospitalized (56%), ICU admits (46.4%), deaths (52.5%).  That lines up with my anecdotal information from a small German hospital: “Some are, some aren’t.”

https://www.rki.de/DE/Content/InfAZ/N/Neuartiges_Coronavirus/Situationsberichte/Wochenbericht/Wochenbericht_2021-11-25.pdf?__blob=publicationFile

So if 71% of the 60+ crowd has been vaccinated, that’s a VE (symptomatic infection) = 0%.  At least for that group anyway. But hey – just look on the bright side: at least VE (symptomatic infection) hasn’t gone negative like it did in Sweden!  There still does seem to be a benefit for deaths, but it isn’t all that great.

And note also this isn’t “all cause mortality.”  These are just COVID deaths.  So this is the most optimistic view of “vaccine effects on health.”  What’s the all-cause-mortality look like in the vaccinated vs the unvaccinated?  I don’t know.

WASHINGTON — Merck & Co said on Friday updated data from its study of its experimental COVID-19 pill showed the drug was significantly less effective in cutting hospitalizations and deaths than previously reported.

Source

Well that’s not good.  The issue?  Merck-mectin (Molnupiravir) doesn’t work so well on people with Delta.  No apparent benefit, actually.  Still shows a benefit for Alpha – which of course doesn’t exist anymore.  Awesome that Grandpa’s handlers have bought $billions in doses with our money.  Merck Shareholders say: Thank You!

Regardless, I suspect Merck-mectin will soon be standard of care.   (Aduhelm!  Approved!)

Its a big club.  And you ain’t in it.

My Friday/Saturday Survey of MSM on OMICRON!

World is put on high alert over the Omicron coronavirus variant

Source

Explainer: How worried should we be about the Omicron variant?

  • Omicron’s mutations are likely to render certain COVID-19 treatments – including some manufactured antibodies – ineffective
  • Experimental antiviral pills [Pfizer-mectin, Merck-mectin] – target parts of the virus that are not changed in Omicron
  • But the biggest question remains whether protection from COVID-19 vaccines – nearly 8 billion doses have been administered globally – will hold up. And, will people previously infected with the coronavirus be immune from infection with Omicron?

Source

The Omicron Variant Panic – Markets fall, but the biggest danger is more government lockdowns.

Source

Omicron: Keep Calm and Carry on Vaccinating

The longer it takes to vaccinate whole populations, the faster we’ll cycle through the Greek alphabet with new variants; the only way to prevent that is to vaccine more people faster.

Source

Omicron’s full impact will be felt in countries where fewer are vaccinated

…The four cases identified so far in Israel – all individuals who had just returned from African countries – had still been infected despite being double-vaccinated. However, as William Hanage, an epidemiologist at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health points out, the more important question is whether it causes severe disease in those it infects.

BioNTech – which released the first authorised Covid-19 vaccine with Pfizer just over a year ago – expects to have laboratory data on how its jab performs against Omicron in two weeks’ time

A WHO source confirmed the letters Nu and Xi of the Greek alphabet had been deliberately avoided. Nu had been skipped to avoid confusion with the word “new” and Xi had been skipped to “avoid stigmatising a region”, they said.

Source

Opinion: The U.S. must defend itself from the omicron variant — without resorting to lockdowns

…Travel bans such as the one the Biden administration announced Friday can’t stop variants from penetrating our borders, but they can slow new strains down and give us time to ramp up other mitigations, such as variant-tailored booster shots

Of course, that’s assuming our regulators can operate at the speed of virus

But though Britain has already approved molnupiravir, Merck’s antiviral treatment, the FDA won’t rule until at least Nov. 30. Paxlovid, Pfizer’s candidate, works so well that its trials were halted early because it was deemed unethical to keep giving the control group patients placebos. Why, then, is it ethical for the FDA to make others wait until it gets around to approving?

South African medical association says Omicron variant causes ‘mild disease’

JOHANNESBURG: The new Omicron variant of the coronavirus results in mild disease, without prominent syndromes, Angelique Coetzee, the chairwoman of the South African Medical Association, told Sputnik on Saturday.

It presents mild disease with symptoms being sore muscles and tireness for a day or two not feeling well.  So far, we have detected that those infected do not suffer lost of taste or smell.  They may have a slight cough.  There are no prominent symptoms.  Of those infected some are currently being treated at home.”

Source

My analysis – there are two parts to this:

  1. Reality.  Omicron (Nu, or Xi, take your pick) may be a manufactured variant. It seems unlikely that so many changes just happened “in nature.”  It appears to be weaker, and more transmissible.  People don’t lose sense of smell or taste anymore.  Although it may evade monoclonal antibodies, it sounds so weak that it’s a nothing-burger – according to the South African Medical Association.  “The World” appears to be terrified of a case of the sniffles.  According to South Africa anyway.
  2. Opportunity.  There’s an organized MSM campaign to leverage OMICRON! to:
    1. skip the “testing” phase of any new OMICRON vaccine from Pfizer / Moderna because – scary OMICRON!
    2. distract away the emerging pattern of PFE/MRNA vaccine failure because – scary OMICRON!
    3. push for approval of Pfizer-mectin and Merck-mectin instantly regardless of efficacy because – scary OMICRON again!
    4. impose travel bans (punish the Plebes/reduce “Carbon” emissions) because – really scary OMICRON!

My Prediction – if Oligarchy (Pharma Division) gets their way:

  • no national lockdowns
  • international travel restrictions
  • renewed campaign to vaccinate & boost (OMICRON!)
  • near-instant FDA approval of Merck & Pfizer-mectin
  • near-instant FDA approval of the OMICRON! vaccines (in 100 days) – no data required.
  • OMICRON! Vaccine mandates.  To save Grandma.
  • MSM will ignore the relative weakness of the variant. Case counts (vs deaths) will be the focus.

Supporting Data:

  • Friday’s moves: PFE: +6%, MRNA: +20%, crude: -13% [-$10], SPX: -2.6%

One last point.  Perhaps the OMICRON! terror is real.  Perhaps there is real fear – coming from the Oligarchy because the virus is so weak, and so transmissible.  As a result, it is only possible to terrify the Plebes about OMICRON before it actually lands.  Super transmissible and weakly symptomatic = it will replace Delta = effectively it will be an even-milder airborne natural-vaccination campaign.  With very minor side effects.  Assuming the South Africans aren’t lying to us about the mild symptoms.

What if the real story were: “OMG we cannot let OMICRON land, or else it will wipe out the COVID19 story within six weeks of arrival!”  Even worse – it might actually provide durable, long-lasting natural immunity to the vaccinated!

That could be the real disaster in the offing.  Of course it might also be a plague-Götterdämmerung with a CFR of 20%, but I’m going with the odds. Panic-porn hasn’t been right yet.  Remember IHME and their 2.5 million dead in three weeks?  This has this same sort of feeling of panic-porn about it.  “Triple Lung transplants required!”  “Babies dying from COVID!”  None of it was true.

And on Friday, we had a unified media response to an event where the only evidence there is says the symptoms are mild an short-lived.

I’m going with the odds.  “If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck…its a duck.”

Hypothesis: if I were a group of Oligarchs, and I wanted to reduce the propensity of the Plebes to travel (because – “Climate Change!”), I’d require them all to take a series of shots that – eventually – would weaken them to a point where an ever-growing number of this group simply couldn’t travel any longer.

We know from that “Circulation” paper that the 5-year odds of an unpleasant cardiac syndrome rises from 11% to 25%, following just the initial shots.  What happens when we add the untested-OMICRON!-shots on top of shots-plus-boosters?  I’m guessing the PULS number doesn’t get any better.  It probably gets worse.  “When you are in a hole, first thing you do: stop digging.”  But the Oligarchy is ordering travel-loving-Plebes: even though you’re at the bottom of a deep hole, you must continue digging, or else: No Travel For You!

https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/circ.144.suppl_1.10712

If Oligarchy can successfully implement this new template, I project that, five years from now, there will be a large number of Plebes who used to like to travel, but cannot travel any longer due to cumulative vaccine injury and/or death.  The “high-carbon-emitting” Plebes who love travel will self-select themselves right out of the population!  Genius!

Of course, the Oligarchy, armed with private jets, will not be subject to the same burden.  This is justifiable, because Oligarchy are “saving the planet” by structuring and enforcing this “Climate Change” policy. As a reward for their good works, they deserve to keep flying private – without having to follow the (deliberately irritating) “quarantine” (or cumulatively deadly) “vaccination” requirements.

Isn’t it interesting that the Plebes, who get 2 weeks of vacation per year, have to quarantine for – two weeks! – if they travel internationally, unvaccinated?  And yet:

Hong Kong says it let JPMorgan CEO skip quarantine for low-risk trip

Source

Yay Oligarchy! Saving the planet, one private-jet-flight at a time.

So, do UFOs even exist?  Two viewpoints:

UFO Mania Is Out of Control. Please Stop.

The claims are not true. Please, people: Get in the box!

Source

Defense leaders want to make sure they can spot and track “phenomena” trespassing over training ranges.

Earlier this year, the Director of National Intelligence released a report on more than 140 known sightings of unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAPs, that Navy pilots and others have reported for years. The report could neither prove nor disprove that extraterrestrial technology was behind the video and first-hand accounts of flying objects maneuvering in ways beyond known U.S. and competitor capabilities.

Source

And then:

Pentagon Announces New Group to Counter UFO Threat

Source

So it’s either WAPO: “OMG remain within the Overton window!”, or – Defense One: “WTF are these things the Navy pilots have been reporting for years?”  And now the Pentagon has a new UFO group.

My bet is, the UAPs exist.  Leaving aside for a moment who makes them and where they come from, I would like to know: what fuel do these UAPs use?  JP4?  Kerosene?  Windmills?  Or is it something else?

I ask, only because the unknown power source might prove useful in the fight against “Climate Change” – and by extension, it might remove the (apparent) necessity for the psychopathic Oligarchy to engage in semi-annual OMICRON! international terror campaigns, as well as their traveling-Plebe-self-elimination program.

Steve Kirsch on how to handle the pandemic; he starts with “vaccines”, and it just keeps getting better from there.

Vaccines

  1. COVID vaccines shall only be available by prescription only.
  2. The government will no longer make the COVID vaccines available for free.
  3. The liability exemption is now lifted. Patients who have been harmed by the vaccines can now sue the drug company for damages up to $100M per case of fatality or disability.
  4. Informed consent provide shall include any and all symptoms that are elevated in VAERS by 10X or more over “baseline” reporting rates.
  5. The public should be warned that the most up-to-date risk benefit analysis shows that the vaccine may kill 117 kids for every kid that is saved from COVID.
  6. Require autopsies for anyone who dies within 2 weeks of getting the vaccine. The autopsy reports should be posted in a public database with Names and other PHI related data redacted
  7. Failure to file a VAERS report for anyone who dies within 30 days of COVID vaccination shall be liable to a fine of $100,000 per incident.

Finally, some resources.  Telegram is being used by many as a twitter-replacement.  Here are a few examples:

Note that the Kats protocol changes weekly, much to the chagrin of some of the members.  And he *really* doesn’t like ivermectin.  But every now and then, there are some real jewels.  First, niacin.  Then – turns out the gut is really important; c.f. “butyrate”.

“Doctor Yourself” is my way to remove revenue from Oligarchy (Pharma) sickcare system.

“Stop feeding the tapeworm.” It’s my new-new thing.

    Hi Dreinmund,

My understanding is that Telegram is pretty terrible all round.  It must be some sort of popularity/first to market/general ignorance thing as usual.  Luke Smith always provides great rants on this sort of thing:

    Market moved on Omicron?!

I often find it amusing when "the media" correlates market moves with news - I rebalanced my holdings last Wednesday when I read the public article below from a well known fund manager warning of significant near term correlated divergence in the markets, to then see it play out AND become "caused by Omicron". It's my view that the markets were going to sink on their own, and it was quite interesting to me that the Omicron news was then linked to it. Don't let a great opportunity to create more COVID fear pass us by - makes me curious when the strain was known about. Was it "used"/publicly released when the markets moved? Every other strain that has developed doesn't get nearly the same attention. Why is that?!

MSM picks up "Omicron is mild"

Incredibly, my query ("Omicron mild") of news.google.com is now showing:

    https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/safrican-doctor-says-patients-with-omicron-variant-have-very-mild-symptoms-2021-11-28/

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-11-29/chied-medical-officer-says-omicron-symptoms-are/13653110

    https://www.cityam.com/covid-death-rate-not-rising-swap-travel-restrictions-and-mass-hysteria-for-cautious-optimism-as-omicron-mutation-is-super-mild-variant-who-and-coronavirus-experts-say/

    https://www.republicworld.com/india-news/general-news/omicron-variant-has-mild-symptoms-dr-devi-shetty-says-no-need-to-panic-amid-concerns.html

I cherry-picked, but not very much.

That "100 days to an omicron vaccine" is a PFE-shareholder wet dream which is (my guess) quite unlikely to manifest.  I bought some puts.  (Not financial advice).

PFE looks to be printing a "bearish engulfing" candle pattern; Armstrong calls this an "outside reversal".    Down 3% at this moment.

Note: a mild, highly transmissible variant is the very worst possible outcome for the Oligarchy.  It means COVID will be over soon.  So - impose your travel bans while you can.  Put off herd immunity for as long as possible.

    Clock is ticking.

DF- Mild O and the jab

To DF's point above - perhaps the death jab is enough and the Pfizervectin will now take over and pave the way for "treatments" and the big O (because it's not really a legit variant) won't help with heard immunity.

    lactoferrin: generic antiviral?

First, a paper describing a scan through 1300 different compounds.  It unearthed lactoferrin.   This took more than 6 months to be published.  "No rush guys, its just a pandemic."

    https://www.pnas.org/content/118/36/e2105815118

Morphological cell profiling of SARS-CoV-2 infection identifies drug repurposing candidates for COVID-19

"The most broadly efficacious hit identified was lactoferrin, a protein found in colostrum and airway epithelium"

Turns out, lactoferrin has also registered hits on maybe 20 other viruses: see Table 1 in the paper below:

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7390755/

Since its discovery, Lf and its related peptides are mainly considered to be important non-specific host defence molecules against a variety of pathogens, including a range of viruses [5]. More recently, the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory roles of Lf have gained increasing scientific interest since it appears to be able to moderate the host response to infections and has the dual ability to stimulate the immune system to counteract pathogenic invasion while simultaneously preventing harmful host immune and inflammatory responses.

A third paper has proposed treatment with an antihistamine & lactoferrin for COVID19, due to an in-vitro experiment that came out well:

    https://www.mdpi.com/2076-0817/10/11/1514/htm

Highly Specific Sigma Receptor Ligands Exhibit Anti-Viral Properties in SARS-CoV-2 Infected Cells

Lactoferrin (400 μg/mL) was able to decrease N-protein RNA copies by 28.0% 48 h after infection, compared to DMSO alone controls while 40 μg/mL diphenhydramine alone resulted in 32.2% reduction. When combined, they inhibited 99.97% of N-protein RNA copies, a 3-log reduction that was highly significant. These data demonstrate that combinations of two over-the-counter compounds, with well characterized safety profiles, have synergistic effects on inhibition of SARS-CoV-2.

Diphenhydramine = benadryl.  Lactoferrin = protein found in cow's (and human breast) milk.  The cow version: at your health food store.

    I dunno.  Maybe $30?  $40?

I'm sure the NIH will run right out and fund a trial, on 30 people, with tiny doses, given weeks after symptom onset (or better yet - in dying hospitalized patients), that won't complete for another 24 months.

Lactoferrin reminds me of honey: "what nature has evolved to protect babies from harm."  Any offspring of a species that failed to produce such a protective agent would have died off long ago.

Anyhow: I thought it was important to mention in the context of "generic antiviral."  So if BMGF starts growling again about smallpox - perhaps lactoferrin could help.  Chaga too.  Thank for the reminder Jim.  I ordered some from Host Defense.

    Thanks Dave.

Dave pulls of a minor miracle again by making the markets moderately comprehensible.

The WAPO UFO specialist offers us his beliefs as facts. UFOs are not a suitable subject for science with it's emphasis on huge statistical numbers and table-top verification by others.

How do you replicate a UFO experience? To toss the problem over to the scientists is is an act of cunning. What can a scientist offer, other than the occasional prosaic explanation? Science is a method, not a priesthood.

If we were honestly going to investigate UFOs we would offer the job to Lawyers who are forced by the nature of Reality to condemn on imperfect knowledge. The courts have the metaphorical gun to their heads and they Have to judge innocence or guilt. They are better fitted to the task than scientists or even the scribblers at the WAPO.

    What's that funny smell?

So, we have all cause mortality strangely trending upwards in high vax countries. We have statisticians reporting to the German parliament that rising mortality is definitely linked to vax rates. We have sports players dropping dead all over the show, and spiking google searches for "died suddenly". To help us plebs understand all this we have the media explaining that the rise in newborn heart problems is due to climate change, the reason 20-40s are having more cvd is because they were smoking weed in the lockdowns, 40-60s ate too much bacon and eggs in the lockdowns, and nobody really counts the over 60s cos they have strokes and heart attacks all the time....

And now we have omicron. Only, what? 100 people in the whole world seem to have caught it, but we can already tell it's super dooper extra contagious. SA docs say pretty much no symptoms. And I hear an unconfirmed rumor that the who want to change it's classification from a respiratory virus to a vascular one. Thank God it's the omg variant that's causing all those people to just drop dead, otherwise we might have thought it was the vax....It would be better, though if they can get the control group down as far and fast as possible. Get ready for gov all over to go even more batshit vax crazy, eh?

    Monster Win For NAC

So we all knew once the FDA pulled the plug on NAC, there had to be a reason.  Turns out - NAC does even better than I had imagined.  Not quite as good as calcifediol, but - better than ivermectin for hospitalized patients.

First - a long link - leads to the pdf file:

    https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Stelios-Assimakopoulos/publication/352828634_N-acetyl-cysteine_reduces_the_risk_for_mechanical_ventilation_and_mortality_in_patients_with_COVID-19_pneumonia_a_two-center_retrospective_cohort_study/links/60e36406299bf1ea9ee51568/N-acetyl-cysteine-reduces-the-risk-for-mechanical-ventilation-and-mortality-in-patients-with-COVID-19-pneumonia-a-two-center-retrospective-cohort-study.pdf

N-acetyl-cysteine reduces the risk for mechanical ventilation and mortality in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia: a two-center retrospective cohort study

NAC group received: 2x600 mg/day for 14 days.  Cost: about $6.

    Mortality: NAC=2/42, vs control=12/40.

Severe Respiratory Failure (SRF): NAC=3/42, control=14/40.

In addition to NAC being a glutathione precursor, the authors note:

Replication of RNA viruses, including human coronaviruses, in epithelial cells requires an active NF-kB pathway.  NAC has been demonstrated to inhibit NF-kB thus exhibiting the theoretical potential to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 replication.

And the money shot chart.  Which group do you want to be in?

The authors noted that more NAC is not always better.    A trial with 21g of NAC (IV) showed no benefit.  They explain:

Previous in vitro and experimental animal studies have shown that
higher doses of NAC may exert a prooxidant action, depending on the nature of the radicals generated by the biological system. Specifically, high NAC doses have been shown to enhance the Fe2þ/H2O2-dependent oxidative stress and increase superoxide radical formation.

Thank to the authors - from Greece - who took the time & effort to run this study.

Isn't it interesting?  Nine medical professionals - with NO FUNDING - in Greece could come up with this answer.  NIH, with its $42 billion dollar annual budget, could not.

    "Doctor Yourself."

    "Defund NIH."

vaccine evasion confirmed - strong dollar rebound

Our brand-new Moderna Multi-Billionaire has confirmed a fantastic new market opportunity for the shots.  Apparently the (mild, transmissible) new variant which has the whole Build Back Better crowd in the West absolutely "terrified" is one of those vaccinated-immunity-escape events that actual scientists (Malone, VDB, and others) have been talking about for months now.

The announcement from an apparently-trusted (newly-minted Pharma Multi-Billionaire) source caused a strong dollar rally (reversing today's losses) and a reversal in PM prices too.

    https://nypost.com/2021/11/30/moderna-ceo-says-covid-vaccines-will-struggle-with-omicron/

Moderna CEO Stéphane Bancel predicts there will be a “material drop” in the effectiveness of the current COVID-19 vaccines against the Omicron variant — and said it will take drugmakers months to produce enough targeted jabs for the emerging strain.

“[Moderna] and Pfizer cannot get a billion doses next week. The maths doesn’t work. But could we get the billion doses out by the summer? Sure,” said Bancel, who predicted Moderna could produce 2 billion to 3 billion doses next year.

So far, no deaths linked to the variant had been reported and the South African doctor who first sounded the alarm about it said its symptoms are “unusual but mild” in healthy patients.

"OMG.  A new vaccine-escape variant!  BOOSTERS FOR EVERYONE!"

It is as if Big Bird really is running "health" policy in the West.

"OMG. A new vaccine-escape variant! BOOSTERS FOR EVERYONE!"

In only somewhat off topic news, ZH reports Germany is to go ahead with shutting down enough nuclear reactors to power Denmark twice over.  They are also shutting down the coal plants that prevented blackouts in 2021:

    https://www.zerohedge.com/energy/slow-disaster-playing-out-germany-moves-shut-down-85-gw-baseload-nuclear-capacity

Here in Canada there is a steady drumbeat about replacing nat gas for home heating with electrical heating.  This as they continue to remove reliable base power.

Seems that there is another trap being laid for us here.

In the meantime, keep practicing your "How could this have happened?" faces

    NAC

Was it in pill form administered orally? I looked at the study but couldn't find it.

    re NAC

In most studies and in hospital setting , IV is the method of administration.  However, there are studies that show oral is also effective.

NAC was given orally in the study linked by Dave...

Patients who received standard of care were compared with patients who additionally received NAC 600 mg bid orally for 14 days.

    Great find!

That's an incredible find on NAC, Dave!  As you said, no wonder TPTB were so quick to take it off the shelf!

    NAC

Great find DF. I will pass that study onto my Intensivist (whom is already a big proponent of NAC). Let it be know that this info does get into hands that can make a difference on the ground level so Thank You!! I'm still working on her with Niacin..

side note: my own N=1 Niacin + Amla study will have results in early January

    patience

My goodness.  You have the patience of Job.  Or so they tell me.    I get tests monthly when I'm trying something new.

The one thing I thought was fascinating about this NAC study (besides the amazing results): it was the same dosage as the 1997 influenza prophylaxis trial from Italy!  And mortality dropped by 83%!!

I would have expected IV NAC to perform better.  But apparently not!

Happy to help the pts on the front lines.

    NAC dosing

I have seen in studies where 600 is used.  I have also seen 1200.  I use 1200 myself.

And One More: Bee Propolis Wins Again!!

I don't know why, but somehow the thought of a million years of evolution, bees protecting their young (and the ones that don't - die off), led all the way to the present day, with COVID19 and the use of bee propolis in a clinical trial on healthcare workers in Turkey!  That's a long journey!

    Summary:

n=204 HCW (doctor, nurses, medical secretaries) in 2 Turkish Emergency Depts.
    Treatment = 20 drops of "BEE'O UP' 30% Propolis 2x/day for 1 month.
Outcome: Positive PCR: treatment (2/102), vs control (14/102), a risk reduction of 86%!
    No funding to declare.

Here's the study, and some details about the mechanism.  Note that Propolis on its own is very poorly absorbed (2%).  It needs to have an extract to work.  Propolis has a lot of compounds in it (pages 6 & 7).  One of them you will recognize - Quercetin.  But there are many, many others.

    https://www.scienceopen.com/hosted-document?doi=10.14293/S2199-1006.1.SOR-.PPZR1OD.v1

The entry of SARS-CoV-2 into host cells is characterized by interaction of viral spike protein with cellular angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) and the serine protease TMPRSS2. This mechanism leads to overexpression of PAK1, resulting in lung inflammation, fibrosis, and suppression of the immune response. PAK1 (RAC/CDC42-activated kinase 1) is the major “pathogenic” kinase, the abnormal activation of which results in various diseases/disorders including cancers, inflammation, malaria and influenza, HIV and COVID-19 (12). Propolis components have inhibitory effects on the ACE2, TMPRSS2 and PAK1 signaling pathways. The pre-clinical studies have also proven that propolis supports immunoregulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines, including reduction in IL-6, IL-1 beta and TNFα. This immunoregulation involves monocytes and macrophages, as well as Jak2/STAT3, NF-kB and inflammatory pathways, and reduces the risk of cytokine storm syndrome, which is a major mortality factor in COVID-19 infection (13).

Bees & Nature...or Pharma?  What do you think?

Which compound is responsible?  Pinocembrin?  It is really hard to say.  Sorry Pharma.  No Pill For You!  Good luck patenting bees.

    Healthy Florida

Here's a fun new website produced by Florida's new Surgeon General.  This pretty well describes what Chris said our public "health" people should be doing, but aren't.

    http://healthieryoufl.org/

On the "covid19" page, we see fluvoxamine, budesonide, vitamin D, vitamin C, quercetin, zinc, some basic risk-stratification, and more!

    http://healthieryoufl.org/response.html

And the tweet that announced it:

    https://twitter.com/HealthyFla/status/1466174868764958728

We've launched a new initiative! #HealthierYou is a one-stop shop to promote your best & healthy lifestyle. This is a resource for Floridians of all ages to get active, go outside, improve nutrition, or learn more about COVID-19. Learn more @ http://HealthierYouFL.org.

In the [0:30] video, we hear the timeless words: "Early Treatment Saves Lives!"  And then a cute little old lady adds: "it DEFINITELY saved mine!"

My hope:  Ladapo is the future, while Fauci - needs to be in the past - in jail, after a very, very public trial where all the evidence comes out.

    Dave,

You're a bit too kind. I agree that Fauci should have a very, very public trial. If/when convicted, my hope is that he is given an appropriate sentence and that we carry it out in public just as we did when we executed the Nazi war criminals for their crimes against humanity.

Thanks Dave for the Healthy Florida links

I will be sharing this with my fellow Florida family and friends.  Florida is a good place to be if those moving in don't vote for the leftist, totalitarian agenda.   Pond making progress. Garden and fishpond to be

Rand Paul Escalates His Feud With Fauci

    https://www.zerohedge.com/political/rand-paul-throw-fauci-prison-five-years

Senator Rand Paul escalated his feud with Anthony Fauci Thursday by calling for the NAID head’s arrest and imprisonment for continually lying to Congress and denying he funded gain of function research on coronaviruses.

    <snip>

Appearing on Fox Business, the Senator remarked “Fauci should go to prison for five years for lying to congress. They [the DOJ] have prosecuted other people and they have selectively gone after republicans, but in no way will they do anything about him lying.”
