"Full room" message was erroneous

If you tried to log in to watch the webinar before it started and received a "room full" message, that was erroneous.

Now that the webinar is live, you should be able to enter it with no issues.

Perhaps because I didn't

Perhaps because I didn't pre-register. I'm unable to register now--it says I'm late and registration has closed.

Watching it later?

I'm a paid subscriber who just now learned about it.  Darn! How can we late-readers/comers get access to it later?

Thanks so much.

Eager to watch the webinar recording

I had to work last night and slept through the webinar!  But I'm eager to see the recording.

Adam, could you post instructions on how to find the recording when it is available?

Please stand by

Our webinar provider upgraded us to a beta version of their service a few weeks back. We're now understanding why it's still in "beta"...

Registrants who tried to log in before the live event started were told it was already full. And many of the folks who watched live experienced 'freezes' that required them to reconnect to the webinar repeatedly.

And now, we're having a longer time than we expected getting our hands on the replay video.

Very frustrating for all of us. For now, I'll just ask everyone to please stand by while I continue working with our provider to fix things. I'll update everyone here when I have news.

But to folks' questions about the replay video: Yes, it will be made available to all who registered. In fact, we'll make it available to all PP's paying enrolled users.

We really love the quality of content and interactivity our webinars are unlocking -- but it's not coming without a few growing pains. Thanks for your patience with the process.

cheers,
A

Still Working On It

I'm sorry to say we don't have an update yet on the status of the replay video. Suffice it to say, it's been a very frustrating and time-intensive day working to resolve the issue.

I've removed my hands from the throat of our webinar provider long enough for them to say the following:

Our team of developers is actively investigating this issue.  I wish I could provide a better answer for you.  But we have brought in our best people to work on this.

I will be sure to provide you an update as soon as I have one.

Ok - hands firmly back on throat now.

I will keep you all informed as I have more. Given the late hour, sadly, it's looking more than likely the next update may not arrive until the morning.

A

I also got a payment prompt after I enrolled yesterday

I enrolled yesterday at about 12:30pm so I could watch the webinar for free, but got a paypal payment prompt, so was not able to watch the live recording. I would like the link to the recording when you have it.

Don't sweat it, Adam--well,

Don't sweat it, Adam--well, I'm speaking for myself, but I don't think the info will go stale and my health deteriorate in the space of a few days. :-)

How did it go?

The Content Was Excellent

Thanks, Darcie.

I hate to say this to folks eagerly awaiting the replay video, but the discussion was great (others who watched, feel free to chime in here).

My favorite quote was from Tom who said he learned more from the webinar than he had from all of his college bio classes.

It's going to kill me if we can't get the replay video working correctly. We currently have only the first 16 minutes, but our webinar partner swears its engineers are doing all they can to recover the rest, if possible.

The parade of technical glitches we've experienced with this particular webinar is almost laughable at this point. Very strange, as it had been smooth sailing with the platform right up until yesterday.

I'm really hoping these are short-lived bugs, as we have an ambitious schedule of future webinars mapped out for the coming months.

Our next one, which we'll provide the details on in a few days, will be on the topic of "Dangerous Markets", featuring two of our favorite macro analysts, Grant Williams and Lance Roberts. It will air on Wed September 13 at noon EST/9am PST. I'm personally really looking forward to that one.

But before then, we've got to see if we can recover the full Health replay video and make sure the technical bugs that plagued the system yesterday are squashed.

I'll continue to keep you all updated...

cheers,

A

Webinar recovery

Any chance for recovery of the audio file?

I'd be happy to listen to that in the mean time.

Thanks.

At least the webinar company isn't Samsung .....

No update

Sad to say that I've had no update from the webinar provider today, despite my numerous outreaches. Unacceptable.

They have pretty much lost PP's business at this point.

I will keep at it, though. But being transparent, I'm becoming less and less optimistic about getting the full replay video (or audio) back. Which will be as depressing as it will be infuriating if that's the case.

I've spent a good chunk of today researching other webinar providers. One way or another, we'll forge ahead. Delivering on our planned schedule of future webinars is a top priority for PP.

Will keep you updated as I have more...

Re: No Update

I guess they are blowing you off?   If the media files were lost due to glitch, can the webinar be done again?  I experienced so many freezes streaming it I abandoned it thinking I could watch the replay.

Bearer Of Bad (And Better) News

Suffice it to say, it has not been a fun past 7 days, behind-the-scenes here at PP.com triaging the glitches that this 'Health Effect' webinar experienced.

(Of course, the folks in Houston are having *real* problems. That puts things into perspective quickly. No whining here.)

First the bad news: we've been unable to recover more than the first 16 and half minutes of the webinar. I just heard from our partner's chief engineer last night that they've done all they can do. The rest is gone.

Man, that's infuriating. Trust me when I tell you I have made our partner -- WebinarJam -- fully aware of the unacceptable magnitude of this failure. They have had a painful week, too, bearing the full brunt of my discontent.

Those interested in watching the first 16 minutes of the event can do so by clicking here. I'm truly sorry we don't have the full discussion captured. It was very good.

Now for the better news: we have been moved back onto the previous, more stable system by WebinarJam. The 'freezes' folks experienced should be a thing of the past, as should any video loss.

On top of that, we at PP.com will be recording our screen during the live event, so that we'll have our own replay video to fall back on should WebinarJam's platform ever fail to record again.

Chris and I would like to personally thank you all for your patience with us as we've worked to deal with this. We are more confident than ever that bringing you high-quality webinars is one of the best ways we can educate you going forward, and we really appreciate you hanging in there with us as we pass through the growing pains of getting this new part of the Peak Prosperity business up and running at scale.

And to end on an even more upbeat note: our next webinar, "Dangerous Markets", featuring Grant Williams and Lance Roberts, and happening on Wed Sept 13, 2017 @ noon EST/9am PST, is now open to registration. Again, this is FREE to PeakProsperity.com's enrolled members, like you:

How about a Do-Over?

Would Robb and Chris K. be willing to re-do the webinar or provide a written list of their salient points along with their excellent visuals?

Dubious advice

Chris Kresser is not someone I would trust for nutrition advice. In the following article, RD, Master of Public Health, Human Nutrition Ginny Messina addresses some of the biased or just plain wrong advice Kresser has given:

http://www.theveganrd.com/2014/03/dont-think-twice-about-going-vegan/

I haven't read much from Chris Kresser (after my own experiment with the Paleo diet I'm done with pseudo-scientific Paleo enthusiasts), but if you're interested in hearing what's wrong with the claims made for the Paleo diet, The Low-Carb Fraud by T. Collin Campbell is the best I've found. Pretty short and concise for a book, it details how the biased pseudo-scientific case for Paleo is built and why it's just wrong.
