Improvements to the Peak Prosperity Homepage

Highlighting new features for the new year
    by Adam Taggart

As we kick off the new year, we wanted to be sure you were aware of a few new features that have rolled out on the Peak Prosperity homepage over the past month or so.

We're constantly working to enhance the site experience for our readers a goal that was complicated in 2013, as we determined that we needed to switch IT firms mid-year. (This transition was all handled in the background, but I'll share that it required a great deal of work over several months to make sure everything went smoothly.) Now that we're up and running well with the new firm, we're able to move forward again with our ambitious list of new features and other improvements.

Here are three recently-released enhancements to the Peak Prosperity home page that we want to make sure catch your attention:

Improved 'Today's Markets' Module

Our updated Todays Markets module displays current prices for four assets we closely keep our eyes on: gold, silver, crude oil, and the S&P 500. We've added color-coding so that a given price will become more green or red as the price rises or falls, making it simple to see at a glance how these key indicators are trading during the day.

The old Today's Markets module that we were using previously only updated prices once per day, making it much less useful as a means for tracking daily action. But now you can stay easily up-to-date on these prices as you visit PeakProsperity.com throughout the day.

And, as before, those who want to see the full dashboard of indicators that we monitor regularly can click the "More Prices & Charts" link in this module. Doing so sends you to our full page with updated charts on the metals, major world stock indices, energy prices, exchange rates, macroeconomic indicators, and more. Enhancements to this page will come, as well, later in 2014.

New Gold & Silver Update Module

Readers of our Gold & Silver Group are aware of the excellent daily precious metals market commentary that site member davefairtex has been authoring since the summer. Dave provides a technical analysis summary of the day's price action of gold & silver, with predictions of where TA indicators suggest the price will move next.

Given the widespread interest in precious metals among our readership, we've added the summary module shown at left here to our homepage, right between the Daily Digest and the Today's Markets modules.

Dave updates it each day, and active comments are usually posted throughout the day, sharing breaking news or debating the repercussions of the latest data. If you haven't noticed this new module yet, we predict that checking it will soon become a daily habit.

New Groups Discussion Module

I've been very pleased with the steady pace at which quality postings are growing in our Groups, which were introduced with the launch of the new site in 2012. To help highlight this growing trove of great material, we've added the module at left, which displays the most recent discussions posted to Groups.

This new module is located between the similar New Forums Topics and Recent Comments modules. With all three now in the same place, it should be easier for you to keep track of all the recent content posted by fellow readers.

We hope you enjoy these new site improvements. We love feedback (both positive and constructive), as well as ideas for what enhancements you'd most like to see in the future. If you have any, please let us know in the Comments section below, or email us here.

    This is good stuff

Your dedication to continuous improvement to the site and helping members find out what is happening inside and outside of PeakProsperity is greatly appreciated by me and undoubtedly the majority of your members and readers.

Hope everyone has a successful year, whatever that may mean to you at PP and to all the people on the site!

    Gold Predictions for 2014

Every other day there is a release by someone or some organization or some bank making Gold Price Predictions for 2014..

SUCH CONTRADICTORY predictions, from total collapse to fantastic prices at the high end.

What fun it would be to COLLECT all these predictions from all over (I can't) and then review them at the end of the year–maybe even then RANK the analysts by best to worst prediction.

Still trying to make sense of all this (is it even possible????)

GREAT for some bored retired person to provide this service, no?  The older, the better–more experienced life, hopefully.

    Default Site for information

Thanks for the wonderful site. I would like to be taken directly to the Last post of my discussion group automatically.

For instance if I type "Climate change" into the search engine, I would pick the group that I followed and default to the last post. If I wanted to go to to the first post that would come up as an option after I was at the last post.

    Podcast Comment Post

It would be nice if posting a comment to a podcast page did not reload the whole page and restart the podcast from the beginning.

    Improvements ?

    Adam

    Happy New Year!

I don't see any of the changes  mentioned. Today's Market looks the same as it did last month.

The discussion area is so complicated that I have given up trying to find anything – or even sort out where to post a comment. I know there has been a lot of work to try to make it better for all concerned, and it may be that some users have figured it out, but I haven't.

Suggest a simple compilation of all posts in one place (more or less the way it used to be) in addition to the more complex system in place so there is an overview place to see what everyone has to say and then be able to choose areas of current interest expressed by others.

The other problem that I have had was that when I posted a comment, I could never find it again or see what others had to say. Could be a tutorial online would help any of us who won't take the time to figure out the logic of the system on our own would help. Seems to me there was some kind of automatic notification of responses to a thread that I posted on – it went on for a while and then disappeared.

    Best Move

The best move you made was adding the link so you can jump back and forth between PP and RL!
