What sites do you frequent and why?

All -

The thing I like best about a forum like this is that nearly all the members are people who are constantly trying to learn and expand the breadth and depth of their current knowledge base/skill set. Like most of you I have a list of sources that I check on a daily/weekly basis in order to stay current or continue my "education". I'm hoping that some of you would be willing to share some sources that you use, and why you find them useful. I'm always looking for more. Thanks in advance!

My current informational diet consists of:

1-      The 3 daily articles on http://mises.org - These are generally heavy on theory, history, and larger economic/political issues. I'm currently spending time studying Austrian economics so I generally find these interesting, but not particularly actionable in any way.

2-      The ~6 daily articles on http://dailyreckoning.com - Checked them out after I.O.U.S.A. Hit and miss so far. Articles vary considerably in style and content due to large number of columnists. At very least, a way to stay up to date with current happenings in the market. At least at a high level.

3-   http://lewrockwell.com/ - Again, hit and miss. Usually one or two articles I find interesting. They will, occasionally, post some authors that seem...nuts.

4-      The weekly article and weekly 10 minute video blog put out by Peter Schiff and Euro-Pacific Capital. I like Peter Schiff.

5-      The http://www.peakprosperity.com - (The order of this list should not be taken to imply preference!)

6-      http://peakoil.org/ & http://survivalblog.com/ - I got here via Peak Oil. I still occasionally visit these sites when I am in need of a Doomer fix.

7-      The one I may want to add in to the mix soon is http://www.shadowstats.com. Feedback from any subscribers would be very welcome.

Re: What sites do you frequent and why?

Good idea for a thread G-Money, Though I'm sure a list of my daily sites would be redundant for many here, I'll contribute a few that I visit on a weekly basis (in no particular order):

King World News: Eric King's podcast interview site (though I usually skip the goldbug interviews)

Steve Keen's Debt Deflation Blog: An Infrequent poster, but very educational.

Charles Hugh Smith's "Of Two Minds" Blog: Great writer on a good variety of interesting subjects.

Old Fashion Living: Good info on old-school cooking techniques and recipes

Urban Homesteading: The original blog about urban homesteading

Lifecourse Blog: Neil Howe's, author of The Fourth Turning, blog with generational analysis found nowhere else.

Regina & Jeff -

Thank you! Most of those are new to me. I'm going to have some serious browsing to do this evening. Starting with the Crunchy Chicken of course.

That's another new one. Seems like that site might even rival JWR's survival blog in terms of content volume. Thank you.

theoildrum.com

I really like this site, but I think the forum is lacking in the energy and resource issues we are facing. Everyone is so focused on debt, that we forget what is really expected to back it.

Re: What sites do you frequent and why?

This list will include a number of repeats from the above (and will omit the obvious CM.com) but perhaps duplication of other's faves will serve to illustrate that lots of people dig on those particular blogs.

Cream o'the crop (read every day):

http://www.zerohedge.com -- these people are so into the econ reporting and analysis it's sick.  In the best possible way.

http://www.survivalblog.com

http://theautomaticearth.blogspot.com/

Useful to me:

http://www.ranprieur.com/

http://cluborlov.blogspot.com/

http://www.joebageant.com/joe/

http://thearchdruidreport.blogspot.com/

When I have extra time:

And of course I'm still avidly following the Awesome Alaskan Adventures of P-Cat and the GungMan!  Frankly in awe of those two...

JO, zero & Sager -

Thanks for sharing. A bunch of unfamiliar ones in there. This is going to take me longer than anticipated! But this is exactly what I was hoping for.

During a time like this, wealth preservation and preservation is ALL that matters. Anything else is a distraction, a waste of time.

CNN, MSNBC, CNBC........haha

www.24hgold.com

www.informationliberation.com

www.usagold.com

www.321gold.com

www.documentary-film.net

To name a few I didn't see on other lists.

Johny O, I've read most of "Another" and "Friend of Another's" blog posts and am absolutely amazed by their insight.  If you go to usagold.com's blog archives you can find some outstanding writings from past posters of their old forum.  I'm pretty sure they got rid of their forums a year or so ago but their archives are available and very informative!

Another good site to check out is goldsilver.com, Mike Maloney.  An excellent site, with updated articles daily.  Also check out his must reads.

Yep. Good guys too. Friendly and responsive.

Hey Logan I see you have quite a few gold links. I read this older article on GATA's site the other day by James Turk and thought it was really insightful. Have you read this?

Re: What sites do you frequent and why?

Johny, I read that about when it came out as I frequent GATA quite often and it rings true IMO.   The Kosares family are good people, and in conversations with Mike as well as John, they're in on the manipulation issue as well as many of the CT's concerning the Fed.  I was surprised to hear that when I conversed, but it made me feel more comfortable knowing that I was dealing with "sane" people and not persons that were still brainwashed by the establishment.

As for Powell and Murphy, I wish them luck!
