Unintended consequences of last 100 years

I've found history much more interesting as I begin to understand better how things really work, and found this article by James Quinn interesting on past events that lead to unintended consequences...

Would anyone add other events to this list?

I'm not sure everything he predicts for the future is a foregone conclusion yet but it seems like a good summary of the range of things we should anticipate the risk of.
