Propaganda Machine at Full Throttle Today!

Just parrused the MSM and had to start laughing at all of the propaganda being spewed!  Every one of these stories is in regards to an agenda and have nothing to do with "News".

First:  Saudi's Warn France of possible Terror Attacks

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/39718739#39718739

Next:  UN Environment Chief, "We are destroying life on earth".

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39716589/ns/world_news-world_environment/

Next:  Newsweek, Tea Party gets Constitution Wrong.

http://www.newsweek.com/2010/10/17/how-tea-partiers-get-the-constitution-wrong.html

Next:  Obama is like a Chilean Miner, Ried Says.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/39717311/ns/politics-decision_2010/

Next:  NATO Chief, "Obama is in Pakistan".

http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/asiapcf/10/18/afghanistan.bin.laden/index.html?hpt=T2

Next:  Fed Needs Fiscal Help to Boost Economy

http://www.cnbc.com/id/39719135

And I loved this one!

MICHAEL GOODWIN:  For This White House It's All Just Propaganda

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/10/18/michael-goodwin-obama-new-york-times-peter-baker-white-house-mistakes/

These are just a few!  Every one with an agenda instead of news!  And you wonder why the American Citizen has zero idea of what's REALLY going on!!!!!

Makes me sick.Yell

LR,

I also read everything with an eye to what it *really* means. But I'm a little confused about the Saudi/France one ... is this a buildup to dragging Iran into war? or is it more to tone down their internal problems with the strikes?

Re: Propaganda Machine at Full Throttle Today!

I spent last evening watching "Meltdown" with a perverse sense of how much our world has changed in the last 2 years. Although it contains nothing that would not be known by the participants here it was good to remember how much has transpired in these past 2 years. The CBC documentary runs 3 hours online (devoid of inserted ads).

Also shows the value of having a government financed, yet independently managed, broadcaster.

At least the last one was in the Opinion section, and clearly labeled opinion at the top.

I haven't watched the documentary yet (I will), but I don't think if you have a "government financed" broadcaster you get "Indenpendence".  No one bites the hand that feeds them, at least not very hard and not very often.  You need financial independence to have a true check on governments.  (Yes - this is opinion  :-) )

Your point?  It's still front page, big lettering and for a purpose....hence, the propaganda.

Just another example of tptb keeping the boogey man in the news.  Sort of like this:

"There may be a terrorist on the loose, somewhere in the US, but we have no idea who, where, when, etc...!!!  I hope you now understand why we're spending a Trillion Dollars on wars, implementing a police state AND collecting any and all data that you send, speak, type, etc...We're just here to keep Americans safe!"Innocent

Don't forget this one!

This is one of my favorites...one of a full series on the evils of deflation...just in time to support the Fed's big push for more inflation!  What luck.

Japan Goes From Dynamic to Disheartened

“Japan used to be so flashy and upbeat, but now everyone must live in a dark and subdued way,” said Masato, 49, who asked that his full name not be used because he still cannot repay the $110,000 that he owes on the mortgage.

Now, as the United States and other Western nations struggle to recover from a debt and property bubble of their own, a growing number of economists are pointing to Japan as a dark vision of the future. Even as the Federal Reserve chairman, Ben S. Bernanke, prepares a fresh round of unconventional measures to stimulate the economy, there are growing fears that the United States and many European economies could face a prolonged period of slow growth or even, in the worst case, deflation, something not seen on a sustained basis outside Japan since the Great Depression.

Left unexplored in the article are the recent massive gains in the prices of commodities, stocks, bonds, health care and college tuition.   Not sure how those reconcile with full-on propaganda support for Ben Bernanke's quixotic quest to fix the banks by hidden-taxing everyone on the globe.

Just one more way that the NYT, et al., have really lost the pulse of the nation in their bid to print whatever the government asks them to print.

I agree but maybe the Fed is in such a bind they don't care what they print. If they can't get the world to play it's game the way they want as the world reserve currency they destroy all confidence in fiat where they can then fall back on their gold which they appear to be the Saudi Arabia of gold.

Re: Propaganda Machine at Full Throttle Today!

The propaganda that caught my attention today was this piece from the AP that was the Yahoo News top story for most of the day:

A productive Congress gets no respect from voters

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_prolific_congress

I was so disturbed by the clear bias towards the Democratic party...complete with distortions, opinion, and outright hyperbole (saying that Cash for Clunkers "saved" the American automotive industry) that I complained to both Yahoo and AP. This piece should have been in the opinion section. I love that he says the stimulus package saved us from a depression. Riiiight!

I am not a Republican and consider myself independent. I don't like either party. I think the AP especially should strive to be factual and objective. Both parties need to be held accountable, not be given puff pieces by a fawning press.

True, but at least one of them was labeled opinion pretty clearly.  It may still be propaganda, but it's the others that are presented as news/facts and not opinion are an order of magnitue worse...

Anyway, we are headed for a police state and pretty soon we may have our own CBC to tell us what to think with out that pesky influence of competition - oh wait we do, it's PBS!   :-(

Unfortunately this comes in a huge number of flavors: Sex offenders everywhere, drug dealers/thugs everywhere, crooked businesses everywhere, salmonella/ecoli in all the food, safety hazards everywhere about to kill you, evil bad for you food being forced on you, evil internet promoting hate speech,.....

Quick, need more government to save us!

Re: Propaganda Machine at Full Throttle Today!

get a load of this stuff.  let's just confiscate all the 401ks and redistribute the money to everyone.  that is the definition of tyranny.  outright theft of personal property and the redistribution thereof.  it just could not get any crazier than that.  i thought this had died a while ago but it is back.

http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=39336

i have had about all i can take from the democrats.  they are starting to make me crazy.  it seems like they are after me one way or another all the time.  they seem to never get tired.  thank goodness the election is in two weeks.  the republicans make me cringe a little also but i do not believe they will confiscate my 401k savings and redistribute it.  it has taken me 15 years to save up that money.  they can't have it.
