Profiling New or Little-known Political Candidates

There has been a lot of discussion and dissatisfaction about political corruption in all levels of government.

An obvious answer is to vote into office new blood; candidates who are committed to positive change.

Yet, it is hard for non-sponsored candidates to become known, and hence the concept of this thread.

The idea is to submit names and some info on new or little-known candidates and to share commentary or discussion.

Re: Profiling New or Little-known Political Candidates

I started the thread because today I learned some preliminary info about, Adam Kokesh, and from the hour I spent researching him, I was frankly impressed.

Iraqi war vet,and congressional candidate in New Mexico. Enjoyed his recent interview on Obama's SOTU address (below).

If anyone has more info on Adam Kokesh, would appreciate hearing.

Debra Medina for Governor in Texas

Rand Paul for Senate in Kentucky

If you want liberty, Constitutional principles and limited government, these are two to support.

Re: Profiling New or Little-known Political Candidates

Thank you, MarkM - found the medinafortexas weblink functioning very slowly (likely a short-term glitch) but did get access on:
http://www.medinafortexas.com/issues.php.

I look forward to seeing some of her videos.

Rand Paul, I am familiar with and fully support. Thanks for his addition to this thread.

Goes211, That is a fantastic speech by Adam Kokesh! Thanks for the post. This guys seems to have the drive and energy to be a real leader.

Re: Profiling New or Little-known Political Candidates

John,

I just got back to the keyboard.  Medina was in her second debate tonight with the other two Republican candidates.  She had another strong showing, in my opinion.  The first debate is archived at http://texasdebates.org/video_jan14.php .

Rand, I know of through Dr. Paul.  I am a Texan, though not in Dr. Paul's district, and worked hard in Dr.Paul's campaign in '08.  Ms. Medina was one of the main Ron Paul organizers in Texas. Her strength and commitment to Constitutional principles impress me. She was not one to be pushed around at our state delegate convention in '08, and believe me, the "establishment " wanted the Ron Paul supporters to disappear.  They were not shy about their feelings.  The whole experience was an eye opener for me as to how the political machine really works.

goes211,

That was one powerful speech by Mr. Kokesh and his RT interview certainly spoke to his intelligence and grasp of the dynamics in play.  I was vaguely aware of him previously.  However, your posting of these videos has pushed me to donate to his campaign, as I have to Rand Paul, even though I am in Texas.  We must work to promote liberty in any way possible in this nation.

Even in my most pessimistic moments, there are people that give me hope that the old guard will die off and new, true patriots will take the helm.

Re: Profiling New or Little-known Political Candidates

Thanks, MarkM. I watched the full debate and agree Carol Medina did very well and seems the best choice, when one senses the snake-oil-salesmenship of the other two. The crazy thing personally, is that for my entire life until recently, I have been opposed to the 'right to bear arms', but in the last few years with the growing police state, have reversed this opinion - big time!

From a Ron Paul blogsite I found this vid. (below) highlighting Peter Schiff, Rand Paul, R.J. Harris, Adam Kokesh, Jake Yowne, Jaynee Germond, Mike Vasovski, and Paul Lambert. There a number here I haven't heard of but will start digging.

The simplicity of what they are voicing is a return to the Constitution - the no-nonsense structure upon which the country was founded.

Of the names mentioned above from the Ron Paul blogsite, I must add a personal comment about Peter Schiff. Whereas I truly respect his economics, I was disappointed in a commentary of his that recorded him saying that he would have gone into Iraq and Afghansitan and would likely support bombing parts of Iran. I don't know Harris, Yowne, Germond, Vasovski, and Lambert but I have supported the Ran Paul, Adam Kokesh, and the Petter Schiff campaigns.  I feel fortunate to be doing much better than most people and the least I can do for my children and this country's future is to support these candidates.   I was also very disappointed by Schiff's statements about Iraq and Afghansitan and don't think that I will be supporting him any futher.  It probably does not matter because now that Dodd has dropped out, he lost his best chance at the seat.

Schiff's statement disappointed me also, but I still prefer him over any others in contention. They all have the same war sentiment as Schiff but at least with Schiff we would have a spokesman for fiscal and monetary sanity. Half a loaf etc...

I still support Schiff, I just won't be sending any additional campaign contributions.
