Oh no-o-o-o-o-o-o-o, Mister Timmy!

Tim 'Jughead' Geithner, our nation's first Vulcan-American Treasury
secretary, is running into some serious flack on Capitol Hill:

March 22 (Bloomberg) -- Senator Richard Shelby, the leading
Republican on the Senate Banking Committee, said that confidence
is ebbing in U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner after his
handling of bonuses at American International Group Inc.

Speaking today on “Fox News Sunday,” Shelby said Geithner
is on “shaky ground” with Congress
and many other Americans. “My confidence is waning every day,” Shelby said when
asked about the Treasury chief whose nomination he voted to
confirm in January. “If he keeps going down this road, I think
that he won’t last long.”

The Alabama senator’s comments came as the Treasury
secretary prepares to lay out detailed plans to remove so-called
toxic assets from banks’ balance sheets in an effort to spur
lending during the recession. Shelby criticized the Treasury last week for not stopping
$165 million in bonuses being paid out to employees of AIG, the
global insurer rescued by the government.

President Barack Obama said he would refuse a resignation
offer from Geithner, joking in a March 20 interview with the CBS
News program “60 Minutes” that he would tell the Cabinet
member: “Sorry, buddy, you’ve still got the job.”

This being a betting nation, some punters are wagering on Timmy's
demise. Futures contracts on Timmy's sacking are rallying, suggesting
that Timmy could end up being replaced by, say, Obama's horse:

I interpret this as a case of dashed expectations. Many lawmakers
remember the straight-arrow Vulcan trooper, Dr. Spock, of Star Trek. He
was incapable of lying. In what may be an unfortunate case of ethnic
stereotyping, they evidently expected Timmy to be a similar 'model
minority' from another solar system.

But as we have learned from
Timmy's TV appearances, he is in fact characterized by a shifty-eyed
gaze. This he developed from years of eluding the tax collectors of the
IRS, which -- by a bizarre twist of fate -- now reports to him.
Regretably, the steely-eyed Dr. Spock gaze just won't return, even
after the tax troubles have gone away with the classic 'mistakes were
made' explanation to Kongress.

Like a 6.5 liter V8, Timmy's
extravagantly enlarged cranium -- at least twice as wide as his jaw
--suggests cavernous reserves of cerebral displacement. Deplorably, Timmy's
vestigial conscience consisted of only two shrunken neurons, one of which has already
died. Thus, the ineradicable shifty-eyed look. If I were him, I'd wear dark sunglasses.

Just pray that the
other neuron doesn't go, during his brief tenure. Timmy could end up
like a mad scientist in the bowels of the Treasury at 2 a.m.,
maliciously throwing the giant switches which could literally 'knock the
lights out' of the global economy. Timmy can always jet off to Vulcan. But
the rest of us are obliged to stay on this blasted, impoverished planet.

In his book,
No Apologies,
former Republican Presidential
Barry Goldwater wrote,
"The Trilateral
Commission is intended to be the vehicle for
multinational consolidation of the commercial and
banking interests by seizing control of the political
government of the United States. The Trilateral
Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to
seize control and consolidate the four centers of
power-- political, monetary, intellectual and
ecclesiastical. What the Trilateral Commission intends
is to create a worldwide economic power superior to the
political governments of the nation-states involved. As
managers and creators of the system, they will rule the
future."  Geithner is a Trilateral puppet.
