Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty, Claims British Lord

Minnesota Free Market Institute -  At [the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in] Copenhagen, this December, weeks away, a treaty will be signed. Your president will sign it. Most of the third world countries will sign it, because they think they're going to get money out of it. Most of the left-wing regime from the European Union will rubber stamp it. Virtually nobody won't sign it.

I read that treaty. And what it says is this, that a world government is going to be created. The word "government" actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity. The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfication of what is called, coyly, "climate debt" - because we've been burning CO2 and they haven't.

How many of you think that the word "election" or "democracy" or "vote" or "ballot" occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty? Quite right, it doesn't appear once. So, at last, the communists who piled out of the Berlin Wall and into the environmental movement, who took over Greenpeace so that my friends who funded it left within a year, because [the communists] captured it - Now the apotheosis as at hand. They are about to impose a communist world government on the world. You have a president who has very strong sympathies with that point of view. He's going to sign it.

And the trouble is this; if that treaty is signed, if your Constitution says that it takes precedence over your Constitution (sic), and you can't resign from that treaty unless you get agreement from all the other state parties - And because you'll be the biggest paying country, they're not going to let you out of it.

So, thank you, America. You were the beacon of freedom to the world. It is a privilege merely to stand on this soil of freedom while it is still free. But, in the next few weeks, unless you stop it, your president will sign your freedom, your democracy, and your humanity away forever. And neither you nor any subsequent government you may elect will have any power whatsoever to take it back. That is how serious it is.

But I think it is here, here in your great nation, which I so love and I so admire - it is here that perhaps, at this eleventh hour, at the fifty-ninth minute and fifty-ninth second, you will rise up and you will stop your president from signing that dreadful treaty, that purposeless treaty.

The scheme for the new institutional arrangement under the Convention will be based on three basic pillars: government; facilitative mechanism; and financial mechanism, and the basic organization of which will include the following: (emphasis added)

World Government (heading added)

(a) The government will be ruled by the COP with the support of a new subsidiary body on adaptation, and of an Executive Board responsible for the management of the new funds and the related facilitative processes and bodies. The current Convention secretariat will operate as such, as appropriate.

To Redistribute Wealth (heading added)

b) The Convention's financial mechanism will include a multilateral climate change fund including five windows: (a) an Adaptation window, (b) a Compensation window, to address loss and damage from climate change impacts [read: the "climate debt" Monckton refers to], including insurance, rehabilitation and compensatory components, © a Technology window; (d) a Mitigation window; and (e) a REDD window, to support a multi-phases process for positive forest incentives relating to REDD actions.

With Enforcement Authority (heading added)

© The Convention's facilitative mechanism will include: (a) work programmes for adaptation and mitigation; (b) a long-term REDD process; © a short-term technology action plan; (d) an expert group on adaptation established by the subsidiary body on adaptation, and expert groups on mitigation, technologies and on monitoring, reporting and verification; and (e) an international registry for the monitoring, reporting and verification of compliance of emission reduction commitments, and the transfer of technical and financial resources from developed countries to developing countries. The secretariat will provide technical and administrative support, including a new centre for information exchange [read; enforcement].

It is difficult to find any references to this story in the corporate propaganda machine.  Many bloggers and freedom groups are giving this a "red alert" and suggesting immediate action in writing representatives and advising others of the treason and treachery taking place at our highest office.

This is old news . . . I think you may want to read the supportive documentation closer.  The language of the actual treaty was just completed and issued on September 15, 2009.  This may be old news to you, but I think by any reasonable measure it qualifies as "new" news.

No doubt a number of documents have been signed in the past that pushed us in this direction.  But this an actual treaty formalizing international governance, establishing reparations and ongoing fines and giving up our sovereignty by accepting this intrusion.  

If you are saying these things were ratified in 1992, you are wrong.  This is BIG news...Wake Up!

The world seems to be turning into a cheap "B" science fiction movie in which most of the population has been hypnotized into a zombie like state.  Gordon Brown is taking the lead in the U.K. as he warns:

The UK faces a "catastrophe" of floods, droughts and killer heatwaves if world leaders fail to agree a deal on climate change, the prime minister has warned.  Gordon Brown said negotiators had 50 days to save the world from global warming and break the "impasse".  World delegations meet in Copenhagen in December for talks on a new treaty.

Brown and other leaders have yet to explain how an international "cap and trade" plan that is nothing more than a derivatives market that will enrich big international banks will help solve the problems.  As usual, there are no alternative plans, it is the same scam played over and over - A) create the emergency, B) offer only one solution that always seems to favor the banks while taking our rights, C) the bill must be signed as an emergency; no time for debate, in fact no time to even read the bill. 

For example, if they were sincere, wouldn't it make more sense to provide 0% loans for people to upgrade their home energy systems?  Or wouldn't it make more sense for governments to issue and control their own money to take advantage of the revenue stream?  In the U.S. alone, if the treasury created the money that banks lend with a 1% fee, it would represent over $2 trillion dollars!  Imagine what could be done CONSTRUCTIVELY with that money.

Please, become familiar with the Copenhagen initiative and fight it!

The death knell for freedom has been tolling for some time, and only now are people starting to hear it. It started tolling faintly, decades back, and has slowly progressed in volume, until today its tolling is impossible to ignore.  The United States of America—that “shining city on a hill”—had a good run of it, and made a gallant effort at establishing liberty for all. But as the old saw would have it, all good things must come to an end.

Liberty, after all, is an aberration in mankind’s history—a light that has flared here and there over the centuries, only to dissolve back into the darkness.  America is barreling towards becoming a bit player on the world’s stage, and its vaunted middle class—once the envy of the world—is on the verge of being eliminated.

Call them Communists, Marxists, Fascists, or Globalists—call them what you will, they are collectivists who despise America’s middle class, capitalism, and free enterprise.  They have been duplicitous, Machavellian, clever, and patient. And it has paid off; the trap has been sprung.

We were hit low by Alinskyesque “community organizers” in our streets, and propagandists in our schools. We were hit high by “think tanks” like the Trilateral Commission, the CoR (Club of Rome), and the CFR (Council for Foreign Relations).  They have divided us with special interest groups, vociferous “talking point” attacks, and identity politics. They have infiltrated our schools, and indoctrinated our children.  They have encouraged corruption and greed at the lowest, to the highest, levels of government.  They have twisted and perverted the U.S. Constitution.

They intend on taking over the planet, but first they needed to destabilize, and then destroy, the United States of America.  Because we were a powerful bulwark of freedom, we had to go first.  Behind all the warm and fuzzy terminology about “smart growth,” “sustainable development,” and “think green,” lies a very chilling fact. The Agenda 21 folks want to reduce the earth’s population—substantially.

In 1996, Club of Rome member and CNN founder, Ted Turner, told Audubon magazine, “A total population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.” A 95% reduction.  Recently he has said that getting rid of a mere two thirds of the world’s population would suffice. Getting mellow in his old age no doubt.

Lord Monckton may be forgiven his ignorance of matters Constitutional.  He is, after all, British royalty. 

The fact is that treaties cannot trump the Constitution of the United States.

First of all, Lord Christopher Monckton is a former science adviser to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher so he has credentials that rise above "gadfly" status."  Global warming, global cooling or any type of man-made climate change is a totally separate issue to the implementation of a scam to steal the wealth of the disappearing middle class while establishing global governance and a new derivatives market.

The scam requires an illogical link of a problem with a preconceived "solution."  The issues must be separated - if there is a problem, it does not provide credibility to an irrational and usurious solution.      

As far as the constitution, Monckton discusses the issue:

But I will say one thing; they know, in the White House, that they won't be able to get the 67 votes in the Senate, the two-thirds majority that your Constitution has stipulated must be achieved in order to ratify a treaty of this kind.  However, what they've worked out is this - and they actually let it slip during the election campaign, which is how I know about it.  They plan to enact that Copenhagen treaty into legislation by a simple majority of both houses.  That they can do.  But the virtue of that - and here you have a point - is that is, thank God, reversible.  So I want you to pray tonight, and pray hard for your Senate that they utterly refuse to ratify the [new] Treaty of Copenhagen, because if they refuse to ratify it and [Obama] has to push it through as domestic legislation, you can repeal it.

The constitution stipulates many things that are routinely ignored by our governBank.  For example, war was never declared in Iraq by congress, it was initiated by an imperial president.  The constitution clearly states that only congress may issue our currency but for the last 90 some years we have ignored that clause.  The constitution forbids a sitting president from swearing allegiance to a foreign entity - but Obama did just that when he took on the role of head of the U.N. security council.

You missed the point.  Only an amendment to the Constitution that repeals Article VI, clause 2 could give primacy to a treaty over the Constitution itself.  That, of course, requires far more than a simple majority vote in Congress.  That's why we have a Supreme Court.  They decide, in cases of conflicts with the Constitution, which prevails.  I am confident they will not cede our sovereignty to any foreign body.  Monckton just plain got it wrong. 

As far as your other points, I don't totally disagree.  We haven't declared war anywhere since WWII.  I have long been of the opinion that it should be declared before we put "boots on the ground" anywhere in the world.  And, I certainly won't argue the currency issue with you.

If you wish to equate Monckton's scientific expertise and his Constitutional knowledge on a similar plane, be my guest.  Based on what I've read by him, he loses either way, Maggie Thatcher notwithstanding.

Doug,

I believe Lord Monckton is a life peer meaning that he wsa granted his peerage (lord title) for service to the British government, usually out going Prime Ministers will have a kind of special Queen's honours list in addition to the New Years list.  So he may not be royalty but I would need to verify.

As for your point above re the US constitution, I can't help that you would be on more solid ground with your arguement if the constitution were not already being trampled all over already in so many areas

So then, your argument is that because some of our gov't officials have violated some parts of the Constitution with apparent impunity, who cares about the rest?  IMHO, our Constitution is perhaps the most beautiful document ever created by humankind.  Our armies have gone to war to preserve the principles embodied therein.  It is the very core of what the USA is about.  I cringe every time I hear some political buffoon try to turn it into a political tool.  I wish every day that the cretins who cobbled together the so-called Patriot Act would be arrested and put on public trial to take back what the Bill of Rights promises us.  The Constitution needs to be protected and defended, not disparaged because some lowlife pols have figured out how to manipulate us into letting them diminish it.  If there has ever been a reason to take to the streets in my lifetime, it is defense of that document.  It is the only thing that stands between us and tyranny.

Not at all. The politicians will twist things to suit their own ends and ignore the rest. The population at large has become desensitised to much or what goes on; the Romans knew a thing or two about food and circus and its clear that this still goes on to this day keeping the apathetic or message receptive majority distracted and understanding/knowledgeable minority without sufficient critical mass so as to have a meaningful voice. I don't mean this in a fatalistic way by any stretch of the imagination, its just a case that the precedent for ignoring the constitution was set a number of years ago and continues to this day; the Fed reserve act, illegal wars, patriot act are the ones that I am specifically aware of.

Undoubtedly, the founding fathers of the US were ahead of their time in terms of their thinking and acted with the best interests at heart for the new nation, though they could perhaps be accused of being naive in assuming everything would continue as they foresaw and laid out. It could be suggested and argued that TPTB have slowly but surely debased the constitution to their own ends, as Grayson said recently "the only honest politician is one that you know is bought and paid for". The question is who is paying as for policies like cap and trade (given that the youtube link relates to the Copenhagen climate change conference), there will be a cost and someone will make a lot of money down the line.

We in Europe have similar events going on whereby civil liberties are being slowly but surely taken away; some of the UK anti-terrorist legislation is a good example and it has certainly moved on from the since the 70's and 80's when the terrorist activities in Northern Ireland was at its peak; the burgeoning power of the EU. Even where I live know in Belgium, I have to confirm that I have had my children vaccinated against certain illness else I risk a fine, removing the Parents right to determine what is best for their children!! Liberty is never discussed, just the benefit of security. Perhaps it could argued that the notion of sovereign states being consumed into super sovereign states has been an on-going action for hundreds of years whether by conquest or by political union and what we are seeing is a continuation (or the fear) of this process in this thread.(?)

As an aside, it will soon be remembrance Sunday in the UK, every year the debate is how to keep the understanding of the sacrifices made in the two world wars and other conflicts alive in the memory of the population, I'm sure everyone would agree that the vast majority of the millions of lives were lost in conflict in the last 100 years (as far as western society goes) occurred in the two world wars, but as the population ages and veterans die, how many people can say that they were or knew people who directly affected; this year, the last "Tommy" died (UK WW I veteran) so removing the last important link to that conflict. But still Remembrance Sunday will take place. To apply that analogy to the constitution given that it was created so many generations ago, for how many people does it have real meaning and resonance (No personal questioning implied)? As I see it in the US there has been a drip drip effect over time as the rights of individuals/congress/states have become eroded; can we have a similar process to move back?

Hope you join us on November 22, 2009 for the END the FED protests that will take place in 38 cities.  The private fed is unconstitutional and it is the reason why the rest of the constitution has been routinely shredded.  I'll be in Washington DC, hope to see you there.  If we don't take a stand now, it won't matter later.  Time is running out.

© The Convention's facilitative mechanism will include: (a) work programmes for adaptation and mitigation; (b) a long-term REDD process; © a short-term technology action plan; (d) an expert group on adaptation established by the subsidiary body on adaptation, and expert groups on mitigation, technologies and on monitoring, reporting and verification; and (e) an international registry for the monitoring, reporting and verification of compliance of emission reduction commitments, and the transfer of technical and financial resources from developed countries to developing countries. The secretariat will provide technical and administrative support, including a new centre for information exchange [read; enforcement].

It is difficult to find any references to this story in the corporate propaganda machine.  Many bloggers and freedom groups are giving this a "red alert" and suggesting immediate action in writing representatives and advising others of the treason and treachery taking place at our highest office.

You, I, every patriotic American have a sworn duty to our legacy. There is such a fate as that worse than death.

Remember the cornerstone of our republic. The constitution may be a dead letter, but is the spirit of this document dead too?

Not in my heart it isn't.

 

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security. --Such has been the patient sufferance of these colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved representative houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the legislative powers, incapable of annihilation, have returned to the people at large for their exercise; the state remaining in the meantime exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavored to prevent the population of these states; for that purpose obstructing the laws for naturalization of foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migration hither, and raising the conditions of new appropriations of lands.

He has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers.

He has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies without the consent of our legislature.

He has affected to render the military independent of and superior to civil power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation:

For protecting them, by mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states:

For cutting off our trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing taxes on us without our consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury:

For transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses:

For abolishing the free system of English laws in a neighboring province, establishing therein an arbitrary government, and enlarging its boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule in these colonies:

For taking away our charters, abolishing our most valuable laws, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments:

For suspending our own legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated government here, by declaring us out of his protection and waging war against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burned our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large armies of foreign mercenaries to complete the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow citizens taken captive on the high seas to bear arms against their country, to become the executioners of their friends and brethren, or to fall themselves by their hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian savages, whose known rule of warfare, is undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have we been wanting in attention to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, enemies in war, in peace friends.

We, therefore, the representatives of the United States of America, in General Congress, assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of the good people of these colonies, solemnly publish and declare, that these united colonies are, and of right ought to be free and independent states; that they are absolved from all allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the state of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as free and independent states, they have full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent states may of right do. And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.
