Moving to Vancouver

Hi Guys,

A while ago  an article was posted about how Fukushima radiation is been covered; it also said that radioactive particles are already hitting California.  I am considering moving to Western Canada, specifically Vancouver, and I want to know if there is any information you guys  can refer me to regarding this, because if radiation is getting into California, it should be getting into Vancouver also, specially because of the current coming from Asia goes directly into the northern part of America. I appreciate any comments!

Thanks!

I hear Vancouver is a great place to live but very expensive...

Real Estate market there just went nuts, largely due to foreign investment (Chinese).

Regarding radiation, if it's a problem in SoCal, it'll likely be a problem in Vancouver. Take the usual precautions.

Here's a site that covers the radiation topic quite a bit. The owner knows his stuff and has direct experience with many of the concerns you probably have as he is based in California.

That site should lead to many answers for you.

Good luck and enjoy Vancouver if you move there.

Fukushima radiation reaching North America

Hi Freeat45 and welcome!  I see that you joined a couple of years ago but this is your first post.

These links might be of some interest to you:

http://www.radiationnetwork.com/     This also has a link at the bottom of the page for a map showing Alaska down to Washington state.

http://atmc.jp/        ongoing monitoring of radiation in Japan; to the right of the Google name, select for the script to be translated into English

The available information seems inconsistent and it's been that way ever since the accident.   There were some excellent discussions on this site regarding Fukushima and the radiation being released; you might want to search the archives......

Best wishes for whatever it is that you decide to do.
