The freedom to express one's thoughts, views and opinions freely is one of the most fundamental human rights. Yet, people hadn't really been able to exercise this right in absolute terms until the advent of Web 2.0, complete with blogs, online videos, Internet radio and similar social-media tools. It is therefore all the more outrageous, and frightening, that, now that people have these new communication means at their fingertips, they should find themselves more muzzled and censored than ever before.
