The guy is nothing but a politician. Don't count on him to lead you anywhere good.

Lead us of course not, but it is a voice that may just wake a few more people up to the possibility that there is a problem and something needs to be done about it.

Perry's fake.  he had no problem supporting Bush with the biggest socialist expansion of healthcare in history. now that the other 1/2 of the DC establishment is in power, Perry's role is to act like he's upset so the opposition stays loyal to the establishment thinking they can choose someone who's not on the same team.

yes the job of the republicans and dems is to split the population on social issues; while maintaining the status quo with wall street and the banks.

mpelchat has a point in that some folks that love Perry may get a bit of an education on socialism.  However, he is one of "them".  He was a strong proponent of the NAFTA super highway (attempted to be peddled as the "Trans-Texas Corridor") and mandatory Gardisil vaccinations of teenage Texas girls.

Right. At one whack, Bush's prescription drug benefit added TRILLIONS to the net present value of unfunded benefits. Fiscal conservatism? Bwa ha ha ha -- Bush was too brain-damaged to even balance a checkbook.

Perry's Republican party offers authoritarian socialism, while the other party offers socialism with more of a social-welfare tilt. It's merely a trivial stylistic difference -- both parties are fascist in a structural sense, with their ubiquitous, incestuous business-government partnerships.

It takes a socialist to know one, Rick. I'll stop now, so you can get back to your furtive vice of licking Uncle Sam's boots behind closed doors. Just stay the hell out of Washington-on-the-Brazos, where Texas proclaimed its independence on 2 March 1836 ... until your Republican hero Lincoln turned the U.S. into a roach motel -- states can check in, but they can never check out. That's McFreedom if I ever saw it, baby.

Secessio plebis, comrades. Do as the Romans did.
