 That was just the last 24 hours (and only a sampling of what was available); multiply that by 7...or 31...or 365...or...

These kind of radical losses are stunning to me. I think the willingness to deny reality right now is the Black Swan of All Time! A rallying stock market!  Isn't anyone paying attention?

As for "small potatos," those were just a few I grabbed; of course,  for every one that makes the news, there are X layoffs that don't, where X, in my estimation, is somewhere between 10 and 100. This doesn't include the decreases in hours worked or the decreased wages--do a Google search on that, and you'll see the problem of jobs is grossly underestimated right now.
