Things have been quiet with the Brigade lately, as noted elsewhere, so I figured I’d share a quick update about the YouTube channel.
All of the Crash Course videos have been on YouTube for about six months and have been getting tons of hits. I just wrote and posted the last video descriptions last night. Thanks to Futuo for writing descriptions for the first sixteen chapters!
Now that the YouTube versions are being used on PeakProsperity.com for unregisted users, the view count has been increasing. I think that in the future we’ll be looking at posting higher quality videos to YouTube, but this process will take a little while and depends on what kind of priority it is given.
If any Brigade members are looking to help out with the YouTube channel, you are welcome to post comments to the Crash Course videos, especially in reply to those who have posed questions. My level of expertise in answering questions is only mediocre. Also, if you see any errors or problem with anything YouTube-related, be sure to let me know.
Thanks for all you do in getting the Crash Course message out to the masses!
Thanks for the update. I think you meant the videos have been up for 6 weeks!
Might want too post future updates as a reply to this thread from now on just to keep the folder from getting too cluttered…
Wow, I feel like a jerk now…I’ve had the other descriptions written and ready, but totally forgot about them. Luc even sent me an e-mail reminder =/ Sorry about that Jason! If you need any help with anything, let me know…
Yeah, 6 weeks sounds about right! 🙂 I’ll be sure to keep future updates in this same thread, too!
Christopher, if you want you can post or email me the rest of the descriptions. I might be able to glean some good stuff from your version and maybe do some editing of the versions that I posted.
Yeah, Chistopher, might as well post them in the same thread you were posting the others. If for no other reason than for completion’s sake.
No sense in wasting good intellectual productivity!
Recently, the ChrisMartensondotcom YouTube channel was granted Partner status, which means that Chris can earn some ad revenues from his videos, and we can post videos longer than 10 minutes. As a result, Tito recut most of the Crash Course videos so that chapters that were split on YouTube due to their length are now posted as one continuous video. I took care of uploading the videos, adding the descriptions, adding annotations to link a video to the next in the series, and reworking the playlist. Today, I finally used the new set of videos as video responses to other people’s videos to increase exposure to the Crash Course. Also, another benefit of Partner status is that we have more customization options for our channel, so look for a facelift to our channel soon courtesy of Brandon.
The average Crash Course chapter on YouTube has about 10,000 views, with Chapter 1 in the lead with well over 40,000 view!
If anyone wants to help with the YouTube effort, they are welcome to leave positive comments to the Crash Course videos, as appropriate, and answer any questions left by viewers that you feel qualified to answer. Feel free to contact me with any feedback or comments regarding the YouTube channel that you may have.
