www.dunwalke.com – Dillon Read & The Aristocracy of Stock Profits
I’m hesitant to make my first post in the CT forum, but this may be the most appropriate place for this link. It’s a fairly long read, but if it’s The Truth, (and her story seems credible to me) then, she has documented fraud at the highest levels of our Government. Lots of big names mentioned, and sources cited.
Give this a scan, or read, and let me know what you think. I’ve come to the conclusion that the deck is so far stacked against us, the regular folks, that we cannot get a break. It reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw
"I love my country, but I fear my Government."
"…she has documented fraud at the highest levels of our Government"
tx_floods – welcome aboard! Thanks for posting this important article. Catherine Austin Fitts‘s presents this shocking exposé very professionally with tons of sited sources and references. And, more important, she witnessed these things first-hand as part of senior management (managing director and member of the board of directors of the Wall Street investment bank Dillon, Read & Co., Inc., Assistant Secretary of Housing/Federal Housing Commissioner at HUD in the first Bush Administration, president and founder of The Hamilton Securities Group, Inc.).
Here’s a few "teasers" from her introduction (the entire article is around 15-20 pages but well worth the read!):
Why I wrote this story
Standing among the beautiful vegetables and flowers that Montana summer day, I was facing the futility of trying to craft investment solutions without some basic consensus about the economic tapeworm that is killing us and all living things — while we blindly feed the worm. In a world of economic warfare, we have to see the strategy behind each play in the game. We have to see the economic tapeworm and how it works parasitically in our lives. A tapeworm injects chemicals into a host that causes the host to crave what is good for the tapeworm. In America, we despair over our deterioration, but we crave the next injection of chemicals from the tapeworm.
With this in mind, I decided to write “Dillon Read & Co Inc. and the Aristocracy of Stock Profits” as a case study designed to help illuminate the deeper system. It details the story of two teams with two competing visions for America. The first was a vision shared by my old firm on Wall Street — Dillon Read — and the Clinton Administration with the full support of a bipartisan Congress. In this vision, America’s aristocracy makes money by ensnaring our youth in a pincer movement of drugs and prisons and wins middle class support for these policies through a steady and growing stream of government funding and contracts for War on Drugs activities at federal, state and local levels.
This consensus is made all the more powerful by the gush of growing debt and derivatives used to bubble the housing and mortgage markets, manipulate the stock and precious metals markets and finance trillions missing from the US government in the largest pump and dump in history — the pump and dump of the entire American economy. This is more than a process designed to wipe out the middle class. This is genocide — a much more subtle and lethal version than ever before perpetrated by the scoundrels of our history texts.
My hope is that “Dillon, Read & the Aristocracy of Stock Profits” will help you to see the game sufficiently to recognize the dividing line between two visions. One centralizes power and knowledge in a manner that tears down communities and infrastructure as it dominates wealth and shrinks freedom. The other diversifies power and knowledge to create new wealth through rebuilding infrastructure and communities and nourishing our natural resources in a way that reaffirms our ancient and deepest dream of freedom.
Thanks for the confirmation, Larry. After many days with no replies, I just assumed that this topic didn’t resonate with anyone. Sure opened my eyes, though!
Is "Controversial" the proper place for this topic? Maybe it would get more views in the "gen discussions" area?

My opinion is that yes, this topic is very important and it is critical to explore these claims in order to really understand our economy and the forces that drive it. And, yes, it’s controversial, so that adds some responsibility as to how the topic is approached.
When approaching controversial topics, I think our host prefers we deal with facts and information while avoiding hyperbole, wild claims and accusations. Catherine Austin Fitts is credible and careful in documenting her story – I think her article passes this test. And, there are many others, with credible credentials, who have offered evidence and similar claims.
If you decide to post this in the "above ground" forums (I hope you do), I suggest you add a short synopsis and maybe a reason why you think this is an important issue relating to our economy. There are some here who who think these things detract from our common need to prepare for what’s coming. And, there are many who think this type of information is critical to our preparation.
Thanks for asking…and again, thanks for the great post,
c1oudfire – welcome back, I’m glad you found some time from your busy schedule to favor us with your post.
The Catherine Austin Fitts quotes that you provided are truly amazing. We too often look to sports, Hollywood and music to find our hero’s – when the greatest heros in our lifetime are brave people like Ms Fitts. Those of us who have studied these matters understand the risk she is taking in sharing her well documented story. It would have been so much easier to just walk away or to stay and participate in the booty.
Her story is very troubling…many, very high in our government work, with private corporations in laundering money and facilitating major drug trafficking – they are destroying our society and are indirectly addicting our children on dangerous drugs.
Hi, Tx Floods;
Thanks for the amazing post. It provides me with an opportunity to explain to this community why I support ongoing discussion of "controversial topics". Like Catherine Austin Fitts, I have had direct personal experiences that have proved to me, beyond any doubt, that we have a shadow government in this country that is peopled by sociopaths. While I was never in a position of privilege at the level of Ms. Fitts, I, too, as fate would have it, was in a position to interact with people very close to the engines of power. Like Catherine, I was initially deeply naive, and perhaps that quality allowed me to observe events that would have been hidden from someone who was better versed in the "ways of the world".
Over the course of several years, I started to notice patterns in the behavior and utterances of people who were powerful in the Chicago area. Thinking that I was witnessing a phenomenon of local corruption, I started to follow the money and chain of communications and power, and was shocked to learn that the web extended all the way to our federal government, and that, in fact, there were few in positions of power that could not be controlled by what I had begun to think of as a "consortium" of corrupt interests.
As I got closer to the truth, I, too, was subjected to a number of intimidation techniques. All of this occurred prior to my ever having stumbled across any of the body of research that can collectively be described as "conspiracy theories". So, I am fortunate in that I am sure that my perceptions have not been influenced by some clever sensationalist literature, but are rather based on personally witnessed evidence and independent reason. Much later, when I stumbled across the "conspiracy" literature, I realized, for the first time that there were other people who had similar experiences, and that the conclusions at which I had arrived were confirmed by other credible witnesses.
The frustration I experience is this: that, while my husband and I, having witnessed events firsthand, are quite certain that we understand these phenomena, the American public is so effectively conditioned to avoid investigating and confronting these issues, that even in the face of multiple eyewitnesses, the tendency to remain in denial is powerful. So, while reading Ms. Fitts’ very well documented story provides much supporting evidence and it certainly resonates with me and my husband, it is unlikely to convince those who choose to believe the fairy tale version of the world that is presented in the mainstream media.
That having been said, your posting this story is useful in this sense: For those who have the wherewithall to see the truth, it provides confirmation that their observations are not some kind of isolated phenomenon. This deeply corrupt shadow government is pervasive in its influence, and whether or not people choose to acknowledge it, our lives are inpacted by it in ways that are difficult for the naive to imagine.
Catherine was able to untangle this web of unholy alliances by the same method I used: the willingness to be brutal with oneself about the truth, regardless of how terrifying and repulsive it is. And in the end, indeed, the truth did set me free.
I especially liked some of Catherine’s closing remarks that indicated that her saving grace, in the end, was her dogged clinging to “the laws of God”:
“Gentlemen, I am obedient to the laws of God and there is nothing that you can say or do that will cause me to violate them. If that means that I am going to jail, then I am going to jail, if only to organize the last group of entrepreneurs I need to run the country when the government collapses. Because if people like me are going to prison, then it is only a matter of time until this government fails.”
Interestingly enough, the lawyer who threatened me, told me many months later that this was the moment in which he realized that we were going to win.
I, too, have found that there is remarkable freedom in the stubborn unwillingness to allow oneself to be corrupted. While it is certainly no guarantee of physical safety, it ensures that one will remain in control of the destiny of one’s own soul.
I leave you with a direct quote from the close of Catharine Austin Fitts’ story:
Here is my prediction for the New World Order. I don’t know when. I don’t know where. I don’t know how many satellite systems, electromagnetic weapons, subliminal programming broadcasters, computer hackers, bio weapons labs, cocaine plantations and how much environmental destruction they will enlist along the way. I don’t know how many patents on fundamental life process that Monsanto will claim sufficient to not let me cough without paying them a fee. I don’t know how many people the New World Order will reduce to poverty, assassinate and torture before they fail. I just know that they will fail. Because ultimately large complex systems cannot be held together by greed, technology and fear alone. Suspicion, lawlessness and smallness of mind ultimately cause implosion from within.
To those who would debate, please be advised that I will not engage in discussing the veracity of my observations. They are admittedly very personal, and it has been my observation that while they provide confirmation for others with similar experiences, they are largely ineffective in “converting” those who remain in the dark. Please respect my wishes to post these observations and reflections without drawing excessive attention away from the preparations and community building that are my primary focus.
Catherine A. Fitts has been a hero of mine for several years. She’s the most highly credible source out there and has confirmed my suspicions that the power elite self police using carrots AND sticks. I lived in the US for close to a decade and after I began reading her articles, I chose to leave the country. Canada’s corruption is not quite as extreme and that is likely due to smaller population, but given time it could easily mirror the U.S. We have a large minority of individuals here who don’t understand how conspiracies work and how they are structured. Our "patriotism", structured around ideas of moral superiority provides a petrie dish for a thriving culture of conspiracy and corruption.
