Why I’m not able to post further comments in my thread?

It looks like my updates on my own thread

List of promising COVID-19 treatment protocols worldwide

aren’t posted

Is there any malfunction with the thread or with my account?

Thank you.

Why I’m not able to post further comments in my thread?

I’m increasingly thinking the spam filter’s criteria are set too narrowly. I’m wondering if by trying to post multiple links out, the system concluded you’re spamming.

I just posted on another forum topic, saw a single typo in my published response, pulled up edit mode, made the change (’cause I’m anal that way), and when I resubmitted it, it disappeared. Unfortunately, this time I didn’t save a copy before the initial submission so it’s really gone.

But I’m not sure it would have helped, as something similar that happened a week ago suggests. On that occasion the edited post disappeared on the third edit/submission. The system wouldn’t to let me resubmit the same comment 6 hours later, so it’s not just a timing out protocol to frustrate bots and trolls.

I’d like to avoid such issues, but I need to know the rules and limits, so last week I put in a support request to see if I could get some understanding of what triggered that disappearance and comment lock-out.

A few days ago I got back a note from support that had absolutely nothing to do with my query. I doubt the respondent even read my original email.

Disappointing.

    PeakProsperity won’t address site problems

It’s usually a single string (often a website) that’s banned/censored, so you have to add some extra characters. Sometimes it’s weirder than that (it can be absurdly inconsistent).

I made a thread about this problem here: https://www.peakprosperity.com/forum-topic/peakprosperity-is-censoring-bit-chute/

Chris complains about bad managers in the US and elsewhere, and he’s not wrong, but the managers of PeakProsperity are also being slooooow/bad in addressing the issues brought up by their users — particularly the active censorship (by forbidden strings to alt-tech and alt-news sites) happening here. I’m pretty sure it’s not a deliberate censorship, but you should be in control of your own forum software ran on a hosting service you pay for.

    you are not alone

Yes.  The site used to be attacked a lot by spammers.  It appears as though the site engineers added spam defenses.  The spam defenses are way too enthusiastic.  They are what is causing the trouble.

Editing is problematic.  I don’t dare edit my daily report for fear it will be eaten.  It has been eaten a number of times.

I hope this is fixed soon too.

I posted a new thread & it was removed and said I was spamming??!

After reading this thread, I see that I am not alone. All I did was I posted some breaking news that I thought may interest the membership here. I posted a snippet from the article and then posted the link to the article.

Initially, it posted just fine but then I saw some formatting that I wanted to edit/correct. I made the edit but when I resubmitted it, the system deleted my entire thread and said “This topic is marked as spam.”

Anybody know what I should do now? Should I try to resubmit my thread a second time (and not do any edits no matter what) or should I wait a certain amount of time and then try again?

    Posts getting deleted after editing

Hi Aria,  I’ve also found, over the last several weeks, that any time I edit a post, it gets deleted.  But I have never gotten a spam message like you got; I just had the post disappear.

After having my posts deleted like that a couple of times, I did finally learn to write and save my posts in a document first, so that if the post got deleted, I could easily resubmit it.  But yeah, it is a pain in the butt and hopefully the new team coming in will start fixing some of these problems!

    Similar problems seen here

Like pinecarr, several times when I’ve posted something, then went back to re-read it, wanted to change a couple things, or correct a stupid spelling error which I sometimes do make 🙂  then editing the posting results in its complete disappearance.  I see that the Post Numbering sequence takes account of my post, even though the post itself is gone to wherever such things go.

A couple of ideas … create your document in Notepad or something, read it over and over first, then do a copy/paste and add whatever emphasis like bold that you want to.
That way if it disappears you can try again.  A lesson for me was, try to get it right the first time.

Secondly: it seems that if you leave your post alone for awhile, and THEN go back and edit it, you’ll be successful.  It means you have to grind your teeth awhile as you are more and more certain that dozens of intelligent folks see your spelling error.

And if all that weren’t enough, it seems the Underline function is totally inop.
I have no idea about that.  Is that a bug, or is it a feature?

I think we are seeing some glitches in the website software, not some deep, dark conspiracy here.  (There are already plenty of those to go around.)

Why I’m not able to post further comments in my thread?

I don’t think it’s done on purpose, I think it is something going wrong the software.

I was able to post another thread (about the cyber attack on the gas pipeline) but I didn’t read it to see if posted correctly because I’m afraid something will go wrong if I click on the thread.

When I posted it (both times) the system timed out and gave me error messages. I wrote down the error messages the 2nd time:

Error 502
Bad Gateway
Host Error
The owner of this website (www.peakprosperity.com) has banned you temporarily from accessing this website.

That last sentence had me worried because I thought I was banned from getting any more covid info in the future but I was able to get back on a few minutes later.
