Ah.. but WHAT can comedy destroy… pomposity, hubris, stupidity, nonsense..

Oh, but you’re not finished . . . . Ridicule can also destroy the reputation, credibility, social support systems, and private lives of good-willed people and truly honest organizations.  It is entirely depedent on the motivation of the conedian . . .  If the heart and mind are sick, nothing but foulness will come out of the mouth.  I rest my case against Jon Stewart.

Ah such determined pessimism.. you remind me of my dear wife…. 🙂

Humour is a weapon, it is however biased towards truth… the truer.. the funnier..

As my namesake would explain.. all the positive virtues tend to harmonise and reinforce…

Truth, beauty, power, laughter, love, harmony, fun, creativity….. they are part of the same family,

they connect just as energy, economics and environment are connected.

 More comedy education…

I find Lewis Black’s commedy is really funny.
I would never vote for him.

The state does not have the power to give or take our rights.”

Correct.. YOU DO.

No I do not, and neither do you, have the power to give or take away inalienable rights under the constitution.  In our constitutional republic these rights are protected by the rule of law rather than the whims of the people or government.

” The right to issue money is a sovereign right of a nation, not banks.”

Wrong (IMHO),

Your opinion does not matter as this is clearly defined in the constitution.  If we didn’t give a monopoly to the Federal Reserve they COULD NOT create money – it would be counterfeiting.  We gave the power to them – they would not otherwise hold it.

Re cmt #36: William Jennings Bryan had it right, Larry!  I knew you’d have the historical insight to fill in my broad brushstrokes!:)   Funny, I never used to find history that interesting, but I am finding the history of the story of money (both the US’s history and world history of currencies) fascinating.  Maybe because it has come so alive in our time: reaping what has been sown in the past in the case of the US, and of fiat-currency history repeating itself at least in the US (and Britain?), if not worldwide.

Funny how fiat currency, a concept I didn’t even realize existed a year or 2 ago, has become one of the central themes in the unfolding story of our lives now!.
