What the future holds
The vaccine will make a difference. The question is what kind? If it works like the measles or polio vaccine then we take the shot and forget about it. But this does not appear to be the case. It will be more like the flu shots. We get one every year and do everything we can not to get the annual virus.
If you think about what happened with the flu in the fall and winter of 2019, this is quite serious. We will start to have face masks as a normal part of our wardrobe. The face mask will need to be effective to prevent us getting covid. This means that there will be a filter inside of it, like a shop cloth from the hardware store.
We will need to be accustomed to wearing gloves when being in a place were we touch a lot of surfaces, like the gym.
We will avoid crowds and crowded places, like trains in Japan or Times Square on New Years Eve.
Supply chains will need time to adjust to the new normal and we need to remember that shortages are the temporary result of these adjustments.
Most important of all the medical community needs to develop a customary, viable treatment plan with substances like Ivermectin to deal with Covid.
