What Do You Think of Schools Opening in Fall 2020
Looking a little on the operational side of reopening, I saw this comment from Gov. Cuomo in a ZH article:
He also announced that beginning on July 10, malls in certain parts of the state that are entering ‘Phase 4’ of the reopening process may allowed to reopen so long as they have “MERV-13” filters installed. But a decision on when the state’s schools will reopen won’t be released for another month. Cuomo said it should be expected between Aug. 1 and Aug. 7.
According to Cuomo, “one of those three filters” – MERV-13,12 and 11 – will filter out coronavirus in the air.
So, this is just a WAG, or maybe a SWAG; if you make or distribute the above mentioned item(s), I’m thinking an influx of taxpayer money could be headed your way. Pure speculation of course.
I am really hoping Chris Martenson addressed this recent piece of research by 239 scientists in regards to the coronavirus being spread by airborn microparticles. Although this idea has been out there for a while, it is gaining some momentum based on studies. Also, as a college teacher, can antiviral ultraviolet lights be used to help stop the spread, especially in indoor spaces? If so, are there any recommended brands or products out there?
In which country?
I found the above update very useful. I would probably err on the safe side and not send the kids to school yet. we still need to understand, how it spreads in schools and closed environments and what types of PPE/masks/safety protocols etc.. are effective. I will pass on being the guinea pig for this massive experiment.
Kids are less likely to get infected. They are also less likely to spread. population testing from iceland and other studies prove that. However, they can still get infected and pass it on.
This is a nightmare – Kids are a constant reservoir for viruses.. Young kids pass this around and have about 6-10 colds per year.. and subsequently pass to the rest of household. This has only been increasing over the years – yet they have these mandatory attendance records now that follow you to college ( its crazy ) you can miss out of college because when you are first grade you got sick too many times.

For sure they do, which begs many questions, the first being, why do we sent kids to school during the peak of the influenza season? Why isn’t this vacation time instead?
I understand about summer vacation, and the parents, and traveling, our status quo. SO WHAT?
Why do kids go to school during the flu season? Isn’t it time to change the schedule? Influenza kills thousands, sometimes tens-of-thousands, even with a vaccine, and we are just OK with this? When the simplest and most effective solution to the flu is not to go to school during the flu season?
