    Website Bugs

This week’s website migration from Drupal to WordPress went quite well. All of the critical functions of the site are working well, which is a huge relief.

That said, there is a punchlist of remaining bugs that we’re focused on resolving quickly.

Those include:

  • comments made on Forum posts not appearing on the home page “Recent Comments” module
  • the controls to Reply/Edit/Quote/Delete your comments are missing or not working
  • comment numbering is wonky
  • comment timestamps on the home page are hours old
  • ability to upvote a comment is missing
  • embedding a video into a comment is hard

If there are other bugs you’re encountering, please note them here in this thread or email us at [email protected]

Our IT team is resting this weekend after working hell-bent for the past 2 weeks straight. They’ll be back in action on Monday and we hope to resolve the above bugs (and others you can’t see) early next week.

Thanks for your patience as we polish up the site from its recent launch. It’s already performing WAAY better than the old one, and has opened up a long list of improvements to the user experience that we’ll be rolling out over the next year.

cheers,
Adam

the controls to Reply/Edit/Quote/Delete your comments are missing or not working

One of the points in your punchlist says “the controls to Reply/Edit/Quote/Delete your comments are missing or not working”. Is this why we are not able to edit the intro information at https://www.peakprosperity.com/forums/discussions/peakprosperity-northeast-iowa/ ?

Thanks.

re: the controls to Reply/Edit/Quote/Delete your comments are missing or not working

They are probably separate bugs, as article comments operate on a completely different plug-in than Forums do.

But I’ve logged your issue onto our bug list. We’ll get on it early next week.

Thanks for flagging!

cheers,
A

    Today's Bug Fixes

The team just pushed several bug fixes live:

  • Comments made in both Forums and on articles are now both appearing in the home page’s Recent Comments module
  • The Reply function on comments now works. The Edit & Delete functions should soon follow.
  • Videos can now be embedded into comments.
  • Images can be inserted into comments using an external URL
  • Folks were having to log back in to the site every time they visited. Now, most folks should be able to stay logged in for a month before being prompted to log back in.

Member editing for Forum Topic comments

This feature should now be in place. I am posting this comment as a test.

Confirmed that members can now edit forum comments as I am adding this line to my post.

    Hats off to ya, Adam

Dude. You organized and ran a major conference, transitioned the website over to a new platform, and have been engaged in bug squashing, all within a three week time-frame. Amazing!

All I did was grade a few papers and plant my garden. Oh, and I mowed half my lawn…

My hat is off to you!
