Vaccine mandates for Canadian Federal government employees
Not too sure what you are getting at NordicJack?
The plan for my wife is to get legal advice on whether they can actually mandate her to get this. Figured it would be better to try and make a stand than just acquiesce to their demands.
I’m thinking it’s important that we all push back now because if we don’t god knows where we’ll be in 6 months.
Thanks for the advice about planning adequately. Been doing so for 12 years. 2 months of food, no ties to keep us here and plenty of savings.
Neither of us really need a job but I’m fucked if they are going to get rid of us that easily.
I’m joining an Action4Canada zoom meeting tomorrow.
I’ll bring it up if it doesn’t get discussed.
Just something that came up today. I work for a private engineering company and we are planning to send 4 people to site in a week. It came out that 2 of them aren’t vaxxed and the discussion came up today on what to do. The company apparently doesn’t have the right to require them to vax or even to ask that info I think it was said.
One unvaxxed person justifiably (given his perspective) raised the issue that company policy is to have 2 people per car. I guess the vaxxed will go in one car and the unvaxxed in another…
I am a casual employee and I’m trying to turn that into full time ASAP to reduce the risk of being let go if unvaxxed becomes a problem. There is the 3 month window where they can fire you for no reason so I hope I can cross that milestone unscathed.
So I am encouraged that there are 2 other unvaxxed people in this small group, and obviously by now any remaining unvaxxed have consciously made the decision not to get it. It makes me wonder if the 82% vax rate trotted out by the government talking heads is inflated.
You are welcome, blaggers. While I myself am not in that boat, that does not mean I will not try my best to help others!
@Canuck21 – there is a lot of significant opposition to this and legal efforts underway! I have posted a great deal of info on different threads as applicable. I try to post legal related content on this forum to keep it all in one place where we can find it when needed:
I went to physiotherapy today and the vaccine topic came up. The guy mentioned that a few of the staff were quite deep into the topic and the information is shared among the staff. It sounded like the majority were not vaccinated and will be resisting.
I know it is just anecdotal, but knowledge about the safety and efficacy of the vaccine, preparing your terrain (the physiotherapist mentioned this too), and alternative treatments that are safer is more widespread than I thought. So yes I am also starting to question the high vax rate trotted out by the government. It is probably just part of the psychological war to get everyone vaccinated.
I agree that there are likely far more of us than what the authorities are saying, if Montreal on the weekend was any indication:
Some apparently took out mounting frustrations on a clinic, according to the twitter video within the link.
Excellent work fellow Canadians!! 💪🏻🙏🏻 More like this!!
Blaggers, WCJan, thanks for the help.
This CBC report of Our Glorious Leader on the campaign trail in Cobourg, Ont is interesting. Cobourg is a small, well-off town I would have characterized as very pro-Liberal. There were lots of supporters there but also a group of very vocal angry people — shouting in very “un-Canadian” fashion. The accompanying CBC report was full of concern that the proposed mandatory vaccinations will actually hurt vaccine uptake by framing it as an individual rights vs health measures freedom issue. Which is already happening. The Conservative leader has come out against mandatory vaccines. And now — finally — the Canadian media will be unable to sweep the issue of vaccines under the media rug any more, because they have to cover the election campaign. Let us hope that Turdeau’s plan of putting unvaxed Canadians on a no-fly list with regard to travel will backfire on him spectacularly and publicly.
This is the name and email address for the chief news editor of the CBC
BRODIE FENLON <[email protected]>
I have written to him several times to complain about biased coverage with no response. I suggest to my fellow Canadians to spread his name and contact info amongst your networks, and bombard him with emails, data, articles etc.
At tonight’s Action4Canada business meeting we will be discussing Notice of Liability notices (NOL) for the media. When ready I will post the template for all of us to use to send to media outlets across the country.
These are simple, tangible and effective things we as individuals can do.
If anyone knows names and email addresses for other news editors please post them here so we can bombard them as well 🙏🏻
While public health and vaccination experts say the discourse in Canada over vaccines has not reached the levels of divisiveness seen in the United States, they are watching the early days of the federal election campaign with some concern.
Spoken like a vaccinated person. Believe me, the discourse over vaccines in Canada is already at the same low levels it has reached in the US. If you’re vaccinated you probably think everything is fine because the unvaccinated people around you have remained quiet. The more that cruel mandates are announced the more you will hear from them.
I was hanging out with some friends recently and one of them, who is a public school teacher, was complaining about unvaccinated people. She said if those damned unvaccinated people would just get vaccinated this would all be over. She also complained that children can’t get vaccinated so she is definitely going to catch it from one of them.
What my friend said probably sounds perfectly normal and civil to our public health and vaccination experts.
This quote stood out:
“It’s not the case that because you support mandates you are against individual rights, nor is it that if you don’t support mandates you hold individual rights above everything else. But politically that’s how it will get framed,” she said.
Goldenberg called on federal leaders to spend more time discussing “what else is involved in a mandate,” such as the exemptions for people with medical reasons or the benefit of employers knowing which of its employees are vaccinated in the event of an outbreak.
That inspiring, insightful statement is from a University professor who just published a book on “vaccine hesitancy”. I don’t want my employer to know what medical treatments I have undergone and treat me differently based on that.
What underscores everything said in that article is that the mainstream believes the vaccines prevent infection and spread of the virus—even though the vaccine developers never at any point claimed they did. There is still evidence that the vaccines protect against severe disease and death, but not infection and spread. We need to continue to get that out there.
Thanks for that Canuck.
Interesting clip. “You should go to jail” and “get out of Cobourg you piece of shit”.
Surprised the CBC shills actually aired that clip.
He looked pretty rattled getting on the bus.
