UK Prophylaxis study
Good Day Everyone,
So perusing through the internet on the prophylactic treatment use of hydroxychloroquine I read over a UK study being done about giving this medication to healthcare workers in a double blind, randomized, placebo-controlled prophylaxis study. That is great news to see if the University of Oxford was doing a prophylaxis study. However, they forgot to add the zinc after looking through the study really well set up but no zinc sadly. Hope they will update the study to reflect why they decided to use or not use zinc in the study. But looks like the study has been postponed until further notice as well hopefully they resume the study as well. I work in healthcare and really want to see this data. Link will be below to the study if you want to take a read.
This trial, nicknamed COPCOV, shows up as:
Study terminates in April 2021.
Trial was paused, as per:
It seems as though someone is seeking to terrify any HCW who considers joining the trial, and if that doesn’t work, they’ll terrify the investigators who are trying to conduct such a trial.
This, about a medicine that has been in use for 60 years, and remains on a (2019) list of WHO’s “essential medicines” for rheumatoid disorders.
Someone is really scared of this medicine. For some reason. Why else would you spend all this energy and effort?
It is rather strange that all of the sudden a well known drug is being demonized about cardiac risks. Like in the daily updates so many positive outcomes with HCQ plus zinc. Makes it hard to believe that the managers of the WHO do not want a proper study with zinc of course. Doctors should be doing all in their power to save lives and not be in it for the money. If that is the reason they are practicing medicine they need to go.
In the end HCQ plus zinc may just be a political thing for the world against the President Trump. Which medicine should never be politicized it costs lives and valuable time to save people.
> someone is seeking to terrify
Yes they’re scared. This was all over Sweden a few weeks ago too.
