Things I Won’t Miss after TSHTF
In the process of getting ready for a business meeting, I noticed a bit of a silver lining to this mess we’re in: There are some absurdities and annoyances that we just won’t have to deal with anymore. With little effort, the following spring to mind. Anybody else want to add to this list?
The sound of the dishwasher running
My family making jokes about my preparatory efforts
Worrying about when the crash is going to occur
Washing the car
The sound of my neighbor’s ATV
Ads for car insurance
Managing my investments
Driving to work
focus on money
Keeping up with the Jones’ as the talk of the cul-de-sac
Cheap plastic crap from China
Welfare as a way of life
National Deficit – Debt
preparing for meetings (stole that one)
I won’t miss paying social security tax. I guess I won’t miss taxes in general.
I won’t miss balancing personal life with work. I will love being able to spend most of my time with the people that matter.
the constant hum of airconditioners running day and night. I remember the blissful silence- (crickets, even!) for days on end during the great Northeast blackout of 2003.
Seeing sprinklers haphazardly watering concrete/asphalt, so that my sneakers get soaked on a bright sunny day.
blinged out hot rods
disposable plastic bottled water
Working out every spring so I won’t look ridiculous on the beach in Hawaii
Those ridiculous woofers in sports cars driving by, playing rap music
The mantra, "Yes, We Can"
Balancing my checkbook
Just a quick strafing run…….
George Clooney, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and anything else spawned by Hollywood Babylon
My Social Security benefits (probably doesn’t count since that was gone BTSHTF)
Things I will miss –
’68-’72 Grateful Dead soundboards streamed on my computer
Sam Linder’s goofy, wry humor
Two Beers with Steve Skype sessions
Pop music, really will anyone still be listening to Britney? Or even want to??
99% of all TV shows.
Advertising in general
Factory farmed food
