Taking a break from PP
Hello all,
After considerable reflection, I’ve decided to take a break for a while from PP. My membership subscription will expire in a few hours, so I won’t be able to send/receive posts after this evening.
I’ve appreciated the many thoughtful and passionate conversations and extensive knowledge base among the PP “tribe” over the past several years. While there have most definitely been times when I and others have been on the other side of a “lively” discussion or prevailing PoV, I’ve found value in having even the difficult conversations.
I may return and if so, I hope to be able to retain my “Sparky1″ moniker. Otherwise, I’ll be checking the site occasionally, following conversations and posting as a guest/”lurker” to the Daily Digest and to the public-facing site if possible.
Take care all, stay safe and healthy during a chaotic rest of 2020 and beyond.
All the best,
Sparky1

I am at the same place. The news and information over-load in general is not healthy. I do not believe you should lose your account. Are you speaking just of your premium subscription?
Your participation has been appreciated. I will personally miss your posts.

This won’t fly here let alone be understood but “it is best to take the world lightly and god seriously” not the other way around. See ya Spark.
You shall be missed, the balance will change ( yin & yang). However, it is good for soul to stay away from PP – sometimes the tribe looks like an anxiety echo chamber.

I don’t think Sparky will lose her login – just access to the Members-Only Content.
I hope she returns when she feels it is right for her to do so.
And – my two cents – she is not lacking in Yang. 🙂
See ya on the flip side. Looking forward to reports of how your life has been. Thanks for all the thoughtful posts and work you’ve done. You’re a great addition to the site and will be missed.
Kind regards,
Tycer
Hope all goes well for you. Stay safe.
I certainly understand. I’ve done much the same myself with PP and several other forums I follow regularly. The sheer ratio of information to noise is terrible.
I’ve been in a similar spot. I’m retaining my subscription, despite now being unemployed, but have been on a break from the forums and posting. It’s been…refreshing. Still following all the articles and podcasts, but then I shut the computer off and go back to gardening or spending time with the family.
I’m pretty sure you’ll retain control over your account, Sparky, no worries there.
