Both Chris and Sweden’s Björn Olsen have talked about this earlier, how a society caught in a pandemic can start to unravel, how the customary social bonds get shattered. Britta Svensson is a senior columnist, 64yo, and here she’s collected anecdotes from the elderly who’ve written to her. The country’s madman Tegnell told them they can finally go outdoors if they’re careful, but what happens when they do? They’re nearly spat at by the millennials. This piece is largely a collection of quotes people have sent in – hopefully someone will have the time and energy to translate this, for it’s downright scary.

Shocking what we hear from “civilized and advanced Sweeden”!!!!

I thought the books we where forced to read in high school to be useless but looking back….

– Soilent Green

– 1984

– Lord of the flies

WOW!!!  Shocking that these story lines are playing out in a few places;  Sweeden, Brazil and the US is being nudged into suicidal actions (least wise we don’t care actions).

Looking back 5 yrs after 2008-10 was eye popping.  Looking back from 2025??

Thanks!

Indy media in Sweden are going nuts over this. These are in Swedish.

Katerina Janouch is a famous writer.

Ann Linde har skämt ut Sverige i hela världen – och skadat Sverigebilden rejält

Tino Sanandaji is our famous economist. He posted this yesterday…

And this right now. He calls her a ‘catastrophe’.

Of course everyone’s primary concern is to cut down the fatalities. But above and beyond that, there’s a bigger and more sinister picture looming: how the Sweden of old got famous and admired because of sound policies crafted by visionary leaders with little thought to personal gain (see how Per Albin Hansson lived, how the Palmes lived in Vällingby when they made those ‘I Am Curious’ movies) but the Sweden of today, overrun by cynical crooked politicians, spend millions on trying to preserve that image, mostly for personal gain. The democracy of Sweden has eroded, with a powerful political and media class now running the show.

PS. A new followup post by economist Tino ends with a few words that were worth the trouble of translating and can apply to most anyone in any situation dealing with crooks in government or elsewhere, government agencies (WHO you ask?) and so forth.

The Swedish government has learned the same lesson as Trump about post-truth politics: nowadays you can escape responsibility by cheekily lying the public in the face. A few people react, but the rest do not care or have forgotten by the morning. It is certainly damaging to Sweden’s international reputation that Foreign Minister Ann Linde squirms evasively or outright lies like that on German television, but the government counts on few Swedish voters seeing it.

We also know that Swedish media will not follow up on this other than to protect the government. It is our responsibility as citizens to set down our foot against this trend to tolerate lies, which is by extension toxic, as governments in all blocks can get away with idiotic decisions by lying about their responsibilities, or saying that they were ‘naive’, and move on to the next act of idiocy.

The Swedish state apparatus was a world leader for 400 years, partly because it was characterised by honesty, and it is up to us now to restore zero tolerance for lies in Swedish government.

Meanwhile, no new cases or deaths reported since 6/18? The five days prior all had more than 1000 new cases.

This looks pretty ominous to me.

No, they announced beforehand that there’d be no stats for the midsummer weekend. They’re all taking time off, you see.

Hi folks, i’m Brazilian and i think that there are a lot of misconceptions about the herd immunity approach.

Firsr of all, it doesn’t means that everyone must go out on the streets but only young people, that are not in the risk group and have a few chance to get complications by the covid19. Of course that you will say that you saw news about a 24 years boy that died by the disease, or a 15 years girl and that’s right, it actually happens but the more someone fits in the non risk group there is a fewer chance to have trouble and even to know they got infected. As it happens with all flu.

So, based on this, we can make a distinguishing about case count and death count . Because the herd immunity based strategy may lead to an increase in the case count, it actually has to, but only to prevent the deaths. It sounds strange but that’s what happens when you do a differential isolation protocol, isolating only the elderly and NOT closing schools. It’s the biggest mistake everyone are doing.

As i said, i live in Rio and there is a state here in Brazil called Santa Catarina that closed everything by nearly a month than opened up again after april 20th, and the curve flattened after opening up,  being the lowest deaths state in Brazil. Also i can mention along with Sweden, Japan also did something similar and has the best numbers.

The explanation to this is complicated but think it as a web made with different geometrical designs and where the web is more dense, it’s more difficult to get past it. So the wires of the web are young people that are making a block to the virus.

Whatever is the data in the world it has the interfering of lockdown strategy that were implemented basically in everywhere .  My opinion is that the coronavirus has little to no difference to the common flu, what led to the spike in the death tool was the panic that led to the shutdown of everywhere. If no school were closed, no college where closed, there would be nothing different from the common flu scenario. And nothing can be told contrarian because this is the first time we see deaths counted case by case, we have an estimated total deaths count of swine flu at 54500 deaths( the covid just got passed 450000 now)  but we don’t actually know the accurate swineflu’s  numbers. In the coronavirus we did different. What i mean is that all this are  the consequence of panic, an unnecessary panic.

I am not epidemiologist, although i has a degree in health science, but I watched Dr.Knut Wittkowski’s statements and i learned everything. You may see some doctors saying different but he is the most specialized to talk about it, he taught

it in Rockfeller University by 20 years in US and now had all his videos shutted down by youtube.

Actually it’s only the basics, there are a lot more to ne said about it.

Strong hugs folks
