Subscription option idea
Hello Chris/PP Tribe,
I am an Odysee (yay)/YT (boo) PP follower, albeit admittedly not as prosperous as necessary to fit a membership into my budget. One thought I had would be to create a $1 or $2/story premium content option. For example, say I am REALLY interested in the premium half of a vaccine discussion or webinar video, could I just purchase access to that 1 story? I might buy 10-20/year ($40 give or take) but I am not looking for, or able to afford, the $30/mo level of access. This way I can casually keep tabs here rather than join one month, data download everything I can in one month into my head, and then not come back…
I think there would be many followers since Covid who would be interested in this level of service.
Just an idea! Thanks!
I think it is a good idea. Of course, I don’t know what Chris and team are thinking, nor of the hurtles they need to face in bringing content to us (no doubt expensive, and probably in more ways than one). However, I commiserate with wanting more material — especially Covid material, in my case, which I can’t get in sufficient, trusted QUALITY from anywhere else.
Anyway, I wanted to acknowledge your attempting to find a solution which would seem to enlarge the community as a whole.
I too want an option like this. I’m unemployed and disabled, but have no assistance of any kind and no income. I’ve been paying for the premium but will have to stop next month. I want to support PP monetarily, and this to me is the perfect solution.
While we’re kicking around ideas – it would be great if there was a way to sponsor others for subscriptions. I’d be willing to pay more to help folks that can’t afford the full subscription price. I’m not sure how the vetting and connecting would work, but want to put it out that there might be members that can afford to help others.
Hello Chris, I’ve followed you on YouTube since Jan 2020. You’ve consistantly been on point. I’ll get to my point. Your subscription price of $360 US per anum is for deciples not avid listeners. It’s unreasonable to think that there are not a lot of content providers whom also deserve attention. Because YouTube is neutering your content and you’ve erected self induced barrier of $360 smackeroos I’m afraid I’m loosing a wounderful source. Consider this, offer an open house free access for a month. Why? Measure your audience reponse. If it is huge, as it was, queery your capture rate possibilities. Maybe a $1 per mnth will put you significantly ahead on gross. Once you have capture, then market to specialty. If you loose me (I’m not special) then you will loose me, period. A sad day.
$1/month is embarrassingly undervalued, but I couldn’t justify $30/month for watching a video a week at most due to priorities. Then I get too busy and might miss a few weeks or like PayTV I had to cancel, months. I would push myself to $15/month though, as the videos are good when I can watch them.
$3o a month is the second-most subscription I have, and yes, it is expensive. What made me pull the trigger was that I noticed that every time I popped over to YouTube to look for something to watch while cooking dinner, I always checked for Chris’s content first. Sometimes I would check more than once – just to make sure. Once I realized how often I was doing this, it was easy to adjust my budget to allow the subscription. I haven’t regretted my decision one bit.
