Price seems way to high. You didn’t mention the size of the solar system.  7, 10, 15 -20 kW system

Do you wish solar when the grid is down, or just off set your power bill by net metering.

Your power bill is about what mine is. My price checks ranges from  10-20 thousand dollars for a 10 kW system. DYI about 10 thousand, upper limit 20 twenty installed with fed rebate.

I think the best realistic solar system is having a grid tied net metering system with   a back up whole house generator, 20Kw. The generator uses natural gas either from city or  your own, two 500lb in ground gas tank. Something to think about, with net metering your information may be viewable for all to see  from your local utility. At least my local utility does this.

Look at Tesla solar they have an excellent system and are often less expensive then a DYI install, but are not available ever where.

I am no expert, but do have a solar system on my RV with LiFePO4 lithium batteries and its been a great experience.

regards, Tom

Panels don’t matter as much as you think.   Choose  Standard width.  1000mm +/-  Example of Top seller :   https://www.q-cells.us/na/main/products/solar_panels/US_CANADA/residential/residential08.html     Taller Modules become standard??  make more kWh..   consider rail layout ?   https://www.q-cells.us/na/main/products/solar_panels/US_CANADA/residential/residential09.html   Your energy future is distributed.
