Interesting article

Thanks Davos… We now have “Browns bottomgate”.. And the USA has 8,000 tons of well .. ahh.. well i suppose it may look shiny and yellow.

10% dilution merely the first step in what Adrian Douglas recently highlighted would be the transition of gold claims holders into general unsecured creditors? If a 4x run up in gold forced the US Treasury to enact a 10% real dilution in gold, what would happen if gold surged 40x? Would the fineness of the adjusted “good delivery” drop to 100 or lower? Forget the LBMA and the threat of physical dilution – a much more relevant question is just how much of the alleged US gold holdings of 8133.5 tonnes is actually real.

I see what you mean. It looks like there are two serious competing interests at work. One trying to take the silver market down and the other buying on every dip.

Cant find anything at this stage.. The last time i saw something like this was in the cerruncy markets back in sept/ oct 08.. Like Ken said two serious competing interest at work.. If one was to speculate ide say we are witnessing a JP Morgan short and a china long.. But thats a guess.. When i say china i mean the sovreign wealth funds.. Of course this is purely paper trade.. Iam sure we will find out as someone will be “in the know”.. (Just hope the bulls win the arm wrestle)

Idaho’s plan to downgrade the dollar

http://www.silverbearcafe.com/private/03.10/medallion.html

“But since states aren’t allowed to mint their own money, the value of the silver medallion will have to fluctuate according to market forces. In just the last ten years, the value of an ounce of silver has zig-zagged between four and twenty dollars.

Could it be that it’s the monopoly money’s value (oxy-moron) that is fluctuating?

greg: indeed…

 “but still it moves !!”  – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E_pur_si_muove!

Interestingly enough Copernicus (of revolution fame) also rediscovered Gresham’s Law (well before Gresham.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monetae_cudendae_ratio

and Newton who sorted out the whole mess from first principles… also sorted out the monetary mess.. and gave us the classical gold standard..   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Newton#Later_life

 Fascinating stuff..
