    Resources for Crash Course Presenters

I have no idea if this is the right place to post this topic, or if it would fare better under the project planning section or dvd planning section. Either way, I feel a need to develop some resources for the "average" Crash Course word-spreader/presenter/advocate, etc.

This was mainly sparked by a thread on the forums: https://www.peakprosperity.com/comment/6744#comment-6744

Krogoth mentioned an "Instructor’s Guide" to help those of us who plan on showing the Crash Course, either publicly or to friends. I also think it would be helpful to have a FAQ for people considering giving presentations, for FAQs that occur after presentations, etc. One could be like, "So you want to show/present the Crash Course…", which could be a general outline as to how to arrange a showing, whether public or private, how to publicize, where to do it, etc. We could have a "Frequently Asked Questions after viewing the Crash Course" (common questions from a first-time audience), and a "Questions for General Discussion" after the Crash Course (good questions to ask an audience to make them feel better after viewing it, to induce enthusiasm for getting involved), etc.

My question is, do you (being Luc, Erik, Chris – the Team in general) see a need for developing these resources? And if so, is that something you (again, Chris&Team) plan on tackling, or is that more of a project for the volunteer brigade? I think with distribution of the DVDs happening in the next couple of weeks, this will be of paramount importance. It would be horrible for someone to arrange a showing of this over the holidays with thirty friends and family members, only to have a question like "So what exactly is a derivative?" unravel everything (obviously that’s an overexaggerated example).

Just a few thoughts

Christopher,

The short answer is that although we have contemplated all these ideas, we have been so busy trying to keep up with the DVD project and everything else that we haven’t had time.

Yes, taking the initiative as you have suggested and building these resources yourself in collaboration with other Brigade members is exactly what we need. What would work best is if you can do this "visibly", meaning that you state your ideas and plans here on the forums. That way, if you start to go in a direction that isn’t consistent with our long-term plans for the site or the promotion plan, we can jump in and offer some direction.

But this is something we needed done yesterday and won’t have time to start tomorrow on our own. If you and other Brigade members can take it on using this forum to collaborate, that would be fantastic.

If you need anything, just let us know. One idea I’ve already had is another art design contest to ask someone to design a T-shirt that really speaks out and somehow says "Ask me what the Crash Course is". The idea would be Brigade members or anyone else interested in promoting the cause could use the T-shirt as a way to start conversations in their community. That obviously requires that we sponsor a design contest with some sort of prize, such as a free subscription. We’re happy to do that, and if you have other ideas that require site "sponsorship", within reason of course, I’m happy to consider them.

Please have at it with a promotion kit. We urgently need it and appreciate the initiative!

Thanks,

Erik

I’m a Contra dancer.  Contra dancing is a sort of community.  So, I’ve made a flyer that says:

Energy, Economy & Environment

The Crash Course

by Dr. Chris Martenson

Linsten to the Crash Course for FREE at

http://www.PeakProsperity.com

OR come listen and discuss Crash Course!

Tuesdays 7-9PM or Sundays 6-8PM

In Broomfield – Ask Don

Then some vertical print across the bottom for tearing off that says:

Energy, Economy & Environment are connected

by Dr. Chris Martenson

Don: my phone number here, my email here

I’ve made this in Works on my PC.  I’m glad (anxious) to share with anyone who wants it.  I don’t know how to upload anything to the site for distribution.

Serving as best I can … Don

I forgot the punch line on the previous post:

I’m taking this to a dance tonight (new year’s eve) hoping some will tear off and contact me.

Don,

This is wonderful.

If you start a new thread, you can attache the file to the post.  There is a "upload files" section below the Comment box.
