Pornography Industry Seeks $5 Billion Bailout

You can not make this stuff up.

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Another major American industry is asking for assistance as the global financial crisis continues: Hustler publisher Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis said Wednesday they will request that Congress allocate $5 billion for a bailout of the adult entertainment industry.

“The take here is that everyone and their mother want to be bailed out from the banks to the big three,” said Owen Moogan, spokesman for Larry Flynt. “The porn industry has been hurt by the downturn like everyone else and they are going to ask for the $5 billion. Is it the most serious thing in the world? Is it going to make the lives of Americans better if it happens? It is not for them to determine.”

Francis said in a statement that “the US government should actively support the adult industry’s survival and growth, just as it feels the need to support any other industry cherished by the American people."

“We should be delivering [the request] by the end of today to our congressmen and [Secretary of the Treasury Henry] Paulson asking for this $5 billion dollar bailout,” he told CNN Wednesday.

Cars and Porn are the only things we manufacture anymore.  We can’t let them fail or can you imagine what the unemployment lines would look like.  Makes me want to lose my job.

Just wait till Leno, Letterman and John Stewart get a hold of this

Now that’s what I call a stimulus package.  Sorry I can’t help it.

This is clearly a publicity stunt.  Flint is the king of provocation.  These guys are showmen, and looking for attention.  They also want a piece of the action.  Bailout for the porn industry?

Wake up and smell the lube!

Why not bail them out?

They’re the only ones to have published video after video accurately depicting the precise act that the Fed was about to do to the American people!

Couldn’t resist…

Erik 🙂

Thriver is right; by using the same system as the banks and the big three did, these provocateurs are mocking the government to bring attention to the farcical side of the bailouts.

In socialist America today, it’s downright hypocritical to not bail out every industry whose upper management has made mistakes.  Fundamentally, private banks are private industry, so are car manufacturers.  Granted, not bailing them out has massive repercussions on employment,  but in the end, these bailouts are unconstitutional. Since when are these two industries exclusively government subsidized?  This is the same American government that wouldn’t help the farmers back in the eighties and ended up allowing the farm industry to be controlled by a small few conglomerates.  This is borderline state monopoly.  The lines are so blurred these days.  Looking back, wouldn’t sustainable farming have been a better bailout.  Americans will need access to food that isn’t controlled, irradiated and GMO’d out by BIG FARMA 😉

    bailout

The government isn't actually the worst stock investor on the planet. More than $180 billion was lent in the AIG bailout, but so far, the profit has been almost $18 billion, a return of just about 10 percent. How many times have you wanted more info on where to find a instant cash loan, and resorted to an online search on "payday loan?" Your search is over, all of the info you need is at Match Financial.
