“Opportunity” Pass in Lithuania
Wow! I just read a very interested in depth read about life under a strict COVID pass regime (They call it the ‘opportunity’ pass) in Lithuania. It’s very chilling.
Crossing Lithuania off of my list of potential second residencies.
Thanks for posting. Is probably predictive for many regions until they kill their own economies and other harms (eg massive waste of police time + generally annoying people through the ongoing disruptions).
Sad state of affairs.
“People who do not get vaccinated are a threat to our health, to the country’s economy, to business, and to human life.”
Looks like they are desperate to protect the vaccinated from the un-vaccinated. Go figure!
This is indeed chilling. And I thought Canada was bad.
A couple of quotes:
We’ve re-entered into a world where you have to whisper to talk about your opposition to government policies. Where you have to scan your documents to eat in a restaurant. Where you’re suspended from work without pay for non-compliance. And where fear compels you to undergo medical treatments you don’t want.
The European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg ruled in a case in April this year (link given) by 16-1 that obligatory vaccination is legal in democratic society if national authorities determine that mandates accomplish “a pressing social need”.
Thank you for sharing the link.
