On a lighter note…Fall Cider’in!
YES. Its officially fall and since our new homestead has an abundance of apple trees all over, I thought I would start a new family tradition. Fall cider mak’in. I purchased this nice 8 gallon home cider press last year. It sat in a box collecting dust. Last week I decided to dust it off and assemble.
First we did some pickin;
Then, after washing, the apples need to be grinded into pulp to allow for pressin;
The pulp is then put into a mesh sack and placed into the apple press;
Press is covered with round wood blockand built up with square blocks to allow for pressin;
Now fer press’in;
And, finally, filter’in;

Love it BH…
Let me add….A pinch of cinnamon, a little (or more) Everclear, warmed on the stove and sipped next to an open fire on a crisp fall night with Wharf Rat playing in the background!!
