Is it possible that investing in off-grid tiny home manufacturing could be the wave of the future?  In CA housing is unaffordable and I find myself dreaming of a simpler life, perhaps out the the city and with a few good dogs.  If I could I would buy a bit of property and dozen of tiny homes, to live in a small community with people I trust.  Some laws will have to change to make this possible in many communities.

Most people who seek tiny homes desire to save money on housing in order to exit the rat race. But some don’t like the hassle of cleaning or providing utilities for a larger place.

We lived in a tiny thrashed apartment for a decade until we could buy what we wanted outright. And we always have like tiny places ever since when we could get them. It’s a good way to live IMO, simple.

I always call housing one of the “big three” expenses that keep most of us in the “rat race” for their entire life: housing, medical, and education. If one can eliminate all three, they can usually exit the rat race. But there are ways to eliminate housing costs: 1) buy a place and rent half of it until it’s paid off, 2) buy a damaged place and repair it, 3) build, trade, or 3) sell homes on the side. I’ve done all of these in the quest to live rent-free.
