    Off-Grid – Inverters

Here’s a good site about things off-grid,

this is their latest newsletter:

Hello,
While thinking of topics that we haven’t really covered I came
across inverters. This week I just wanted to give a little introduction
to inverters… the different types and how to decide which kind to buy.
Until next week,
Andrew

Thanks for the link to Living Off the Grid.  Imagine if everyone took this approach?

I agree gtazman, but this stuff is not cheap or simple.  Where’s the tax incentives to get this rolling?  Clearly, a million individual homeowner systems are going to be better than one mondo windfarm located in East Jesus somewhere miles from the grid.

Think of the jobs that might create?  Retrofit one million homes with PV/Wind and passive systems….  Now there’s a stimulus package I could support.

We’ve had a wind generator for years – the trouble was the batteries kept having to be changed until I found out about desulfating your batteries.

Apparently, lead-acid can last a lot longer if you use these to break up sulfur crystals. Getting a set for every battery bank I own.

Re: Off-Grid – Inverters- My Stimulus Package

Yeap – that would be a stimulus package – just heard from our power company they are raising the rates nearly 12% !!! Good thing we only use $50 a month – and $14 of that is just for the convience of having a power line to the place.

Yeah, it has been refered to as the Green New Deal I think.
