It’s been a while since we had a new thread to have a discussion since the old bitcoin reached 7k from some time ago. A lot has happened since then, but essentially nothing has happened.
There was some manipulation, some fraud, some HODLING, some tears, some fist bumps, some millions won and lost the same week. As of the time of this post, the price of BTC is just over $7k again.
Price is the least interesting thing in the blockchain space to me personally. I’m about the technology first and the potential to change the world. However, I get that price is the topic most people on this website focus on, and how to trade it – so have at it.
For some big picture comparisons, I think it would be interesting to compare the age of blockchain to the earliest years of railroad, radio, telephone, tv and internet.
Some people mistakingly try to compare this to the ‘airplane’ or another single technology advancement no matter how significant – the key is to compare it to others that have ‘network effect’ or use ‘Metcalf’s Law”. If your comparison can’t be measured using Metcalf’s Law, you might want to think about using a different analogy.
We are still in the ‘crypto winter’ stage and who knows how long it will last – but I’m enjoying the fruits of being early to the crypto asset class with an early retirement. There are entire weeks I can go without even looking at the crypto price charts. That’s refreshing.
