Never in the history of humanity has an infectious disease
OBSERVATION: Never in the history of humanity has an infectious disease/contagion, be it viral, bacterial or microorganism has spread so fast and so far through our planet, and has infected so many so quickly, it is unprecedented. Because of the present world’s trend in globalization (high-speed travel for commerce, pleasure, immigration and education,) we may see more infectious spread like this every 5 to 10 years or so. If we don’t adopt new guidelines for globalization and infectious spread containment we will just repeat our mistakes and people will die. The current example of this is that China never stopped its population (infected or not) from traveling abroad during this crisis, either by air, land nor sea, and because of this type of largescale hopscotch global travel there populace has inadvertently infected other countries with this pathogen, and for this reason the spreading of the COVID19 contagion will proliferate all over the world.
Great comments and insights Brian. Thank you. Probably not an ELE, but this will be damn serious I believe.
Please hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable by refusing to go along with #WHO insipid naming convention. The #CCP has most likely put a gun to our heads. The least we can do is call this virus the Wuhan Corona Virus. And that’s what I’m sticking with. I view this as a disaster of unprecedented magnitude. Chris, can we go with Wuhan Corona Virus? WCV? #WHO Dr. Teddy a joke. Why, the Spanish flu had nothing to do with Spain, the least we can do is saddle the CCP with this new Holocaust.
The Chinese have a concept of “Mandate of Heaven.” Can’t rule without it and if you lose it you can’t rule. It’s why the PRC/CCP is so voracious about Tibet, Taiwan, and the outlying areas. Loss of control of the periphery was always the first sign that the “Mandate of Heaven” was leaving current rulers. Let’s hope at the very least we get regime change out of this.
