Miami Condo Collapse Another 911?
Everytime I see writeups like this, I wonder if the “dark side” actually did this to attack Desantis in Florida since he has been pushing freedom from Tyranny. Honestly though, who knows? I’ve been having a very tough time differentiating bad from good anymore. Interested to know cause of this event but they way it looks, seems to be man-made 🙁
It looks like it was a 40 year old building, built in the height of the cocaine fueled economy of the 80’s. I know how building inspectors get, especially back then. Understaffed, over worked, no time to even slow a project down and probably on the take from every GC that had a project going at that time. Lots of corners being cut.
Then fast forward to today. The soil they build on is sandy and difficult to build on. Then it shifts and suddenly theres no support for the pilons driven into the ground. Those building engineers on site will likely have told their company a hundred times, “Hey! That crack in the garage is growing!” And they’ll say, “We’ll put some money in the budget for it”. Then the owners ask about it, the property manager can’t defend it, they negotiate and then the final budget is for an “engineer” to “inspect it”. Then the problem goes away for a few years.
I don’t suspect nefarious intent here. I know how stuff like this gets put off and ignored. The real thing that concerns me is how many hundreds of buildings were built around the same time with the same flaws.
If the building was built to the specifications of its engineered and approved plans, using the proper call-outs in its construction…and, if this project was properly inspected at the time of construction…the only reasons I can blame a natural collapse upon is foundation failure, caused by substrate failure, or original design faults, such as getting the math wrong.
But, no matter the cause, it shall be determined by proper examination of the site.
My bet is foundation failure, due to earth migration from beneath footings. No matter how you construct the rest…everything depends on the foundation. Even so, it is hard for a sudden collapse without structural warning signs, such as stucco cracks, door swing and window issues, and drywall movement.
Apparently the inspector visited only a few days ago??
Please, it’s not a conspiracy. I am involved in a great deal of reconstruction work, repairing the efforts of bad builders. This was the result of poor oversight and building to a price. You in the US should be aware of that, you build cheap, you build for profit, you do not build with safety in mind . We do exactly the same in the UK. One shitty contractor does not a conspiracy make.
What Blindfox said times 1000! I see it every day.
Faulty towers in Australia. Fascinating story
“Everything was just decimated,” said Barry Cohen, a building resident and a former vice mayor of Surfside. “It looked like it had been hit by a missile.”

Interesting choice of words, because that’s how I’d describe what happened to the AT&T building in Nashville on 12/25/20.
So who are they going to blame this on? Iran? Pretext to start bombing?
The US Navy detonates enough explosives off the coast of Florida to register 3.9 on the Richter scale. A week later a 40 year old building already subject to subsidance collapses. Probably a coincedence but my money is on a sinkhole collapse triggered by a seismic event.
Here in Australia I only saw a snippet of this on the TV news while sitting in a waiting room.
Funnily enough I immediately had a similar though – pre-planned nefarious activity. Why did I think this?
I have no idea.
I have no engineering, demolition or building experience, but the short snippet on TV with no real information or detail sent off my spidey senses. Same way as the explosion in the (ivermection or hydroxy) factory in Taiwan? reported a few months ago had me thinking the same.
No explanations for any scenario but it caught my attention.
