Ivermectin / HCQ / Azith or Doxycycline Dosage
Just a theoretical suggestion here, not medical advice. Ivermectin is commonly prescribed for head lice. If a person were to believe they had head lice and reached out to an online medical service and (maybe something like push health) reported the head lice I would think you could then request Ivermectin as that is the indicated treatment.
I cant remember exactly when I saw this (or if I saw it) but in one of Chris earlier covid videos he made a side remark about how if you take HCQ longer term, it will start to lose its effectiveness as an antiviral.
I recall interpreting this as being a statement that is just generally known about HCQ.
If I got that right, then how long term is “long term”? Like if I was gonna take a loading dose and then do 200mg a week after that “forever” how long would it be before I was wasting my time? How long would I have to stop taking it for it to become effective again? I know there are no hard answers to this for Covid but what about for malaria?
Interesting that ivermectin finally made this well respected list as recommended prophylaxis:
relevant section, at about 12 mg either once per week, or two times in 72 hours, I think as per some recent studies mentioned by Chris M:
•Ivermectin for pre- and postexposure prophylaxis (see ClinTrials.gov NCT04422561 & NCT04425850). 200ug/kg immediately then repeat in 72 hours. •Ivermectin for prophylaxis in high risk individuals. 150-200ug/kg (or 12 mg) ivermectin weekly.
For educational purposes, and not as medical advice of course i would like to understand is the 150mcg – 200mcg one dose per day and up to 4 days? thank you.
also would one use a digital scale to measure out mcg?
Yes, one dose per day up to 4 days. Were you to buy it in powder form you’d need a 1mg scale (sub-1mg scales are expensive but also unnecessary for ivermectin as it’s 150mcg per kg of body weight). Ivermectin comes in 6mg and 12mg pills, also as horse paste and in other forms in veterinary medicine. You can just take 12mg or a little bit less (e.g. 150*70=10.5mg if you’re 70 kg). On page 1 in this thread people posted how to figure out horse paste dosaging.
Thank you so much @tbp. I appreciate this response. Also sorry I wasn’t aware there were more pages to this thread before I posted my question!
I have another question. Would this scale work for weighing horse paste? Looks like it measures 20G X 0.001G.
I tried to link to Amazon however it links to a blank page w/ a Kindle logo? So here is the description to check it out on amazon.
American Weigh Scale Gemini Series Precision Digital Milligram Scale, Silver 20G X 0.001G (GEMINI-20) (Black)
Thank you so much.
Just wondering for educational purposes.
Yeah that scale, a 1mg (0.001g) scale, should work for quantities above 10mg. Below 10mg they’re often unreliable, but even for sub-10mg you can do x5 or x10 and then divide by 5 or 10.
