Its time for a big change

Yep. Time to move on from fear. I’ve cancelled my plans to flee the country tomorrow and instead I signed up for an online course on how to move from victim mode to power mode. It’s had amazing results already. Today a friend came over for tea and said that she was at church this morning and everyone had to show their covid pass to get in. To a church service! That shocked me. So I’ve decided that next Sunday I shall go along and stand outside the main doors and ask for a hymn sheet and ask for the preacher to leave the door open so I can hear their sermon. (They won’t, it’s freezing here.) The congregation all know me, or my family, in this small town. I shall still be standing there when they come out, and I shall shame the lot of them.

Dropping out and staying in both have value

Good for you! Your path is alluring. However….I have to follow a slightly different path. I have been able to influence some people away from vaccines and help many in my community learn about and start early treatment..For that reason I am staying current on Covid matters. But during the course of my day I give Covid no thought unless there is an opportunity to do some good. I focus on my gardens and building out my homestead, and on some work for others.
I am also staying current on Government Control issues such as vaccine passports and vaccine mandates for employment. The personal liberty issues are  potentially more critical than Covid. …..But like Covid …there is no value in fearing them…..only becoming wiser to help to disable them.
Dropping out of society has value in creating better …alternate lifestyles….However working within society for change is also positive.

Thats a big truth bomb that I think everyone here should consider. How about the poor lady that posted here last week in terror that her children were going to be forcibly jabbed, and then die while her and her husband were going to be sent to a concentration camp?

Even  now there is a thread open about “re-education camps” coming to America. Stuff like that is every bit as toxic and poisonous as the fear that the mainstream is putting out.

Yes, getting deep into things, I’ve done some scrolling through youtube, tiktok and other apps, and have come across pure misinfo pages where people will continuously talk about wars on the brink, such as the Russia/Ukraine conflict, and the threats of nuclear war which are sure to happen any hour now.

It’s extremely disingenuous, and people do it for multiple reasons, not least of which because they are wrapped up in the same things themselves or want to feed the cycle and their own confirmation bias. Or for views, or monetary gain.

I don’t think one side is necessarily worse than the other, it’s just that one side right now seems to be controlling or is controlled by the power structure, which makes some the other side more paranoid.

All in all, mass psychosis/hypnosis affects us in many different ways depending on our influence and temperament.

Thanks Brushhog for your well timed thoughts (and actions).

Reading your post this evening was refreshing to read. I’ve spent the past four days having a nice Thanksgiving Dinner, splitting up the winter supply of firewood, tilling soil for the winter wheat patch, pulling up the remains of our garden and giving the goats a treat among other misc. to-do items.

I unplugged the TV stream over ten years ago. Even so, random checks to the internet serve their purpose. It’s kind of like radiation, you know you receive poison the longer you engage. But it is somewhat of a necessary evil in that it must be managed.

I am also involved in the daily activities of my architecture and construction business which keeps me actively tied to the community. I very much like that part of my life. Designing living environments using permaculture principles as a foundation and utilizing energy efficient designs with solar thermal/PV systems, etc. helps keep things real to me.

I agree, BIG CHANGE is under way. We need to examine our ‘line in the sand’ and know exactly what it means when it gets crossed. I support humility and at the same time the need to be alert and willing to stand up if the need arises. Somehow I sense that those times are quickly approaching.

    Brush hog, yes!

I’ve been making the same kind of plans brush hog. Cliff High said a while back (paraphrasing) that those of us who are here to pick up the pieces when it’s all over must look deeply and carefully into the darkness that is coming. But having done so, he suggests that there is no reason to torture ourselves by continuing.

I got my crystal ball off eBay, with free shipping from china, so it only works a few months ahead, but what I see here down under is a brief window of summer where it’s all kinda ok, then…winter is coming.

I’m going home, staying home, and I’m planning on having a summer of joy. I’m reminding myself everyday to celebrate every batch of ducklings (the cuteness!) every harvest of tomatoes, every summer evening spent with a glass of wine and good friends….

I’ve immersed myself in the ugliness that is coming, and fought it as best I could…and I don’t think it was enough. I’m done with debating the wilfully stupid, and the hypnotized crazies. I can’t get through to them, and I’m tired of trying.

Now I intend to marinate myself in the beauty of the everyday, the sunsets, the satisfaction of canning pasta sauce, the bickering children, all of it…just for the summer.

I think I will need all the strength I can muster and hoard for the next stage, but we are not there yet, so now is the time to tend my gardens, both the inner and the outer, and preserve all the bounty…

Excellent post, thank you brushhog.

I’ve been struggling the past few years to tune out the “news”, to cease the doom-scrolling, to simplify my habits, to be more present and attentive to where I am in the moment, and to love God and neighbor. I intend to make a fresh start today. If you have any practical advice to give, in a followup post, or a progress report on how you’re doing, we would love to hear it.

I agree. I have done my best to save those I can but too many have stopped listening or are too entrenched in the narrative or are too easily levered by the extortion that I have little to no impact on the lives around me and cannot change the decisions they have already made.

I have already resolved my own choices. I have already de-levered myself, and now all I have left is to secure my food supply long enough to weather the majority of the coming storm. I’m remaining part of society long enough to squeeze the last drops of ration tokens I can out of it before those buy me nothing more of value.

But I’m done. I don’t care about mandates, I don’t care about the vax, I don’t care about variants, I don’t care about society anymore. All this is the harvest of seeds sown generations ago, all I can do is watch it happen, either from the midst of the mob, or on the sidelines. But I can’t change anything, not even any minds, so I too am disengaging.

I am not religious in fact I am a non believer but I have many friends who are “religious”.

I lump them into 2 categories those that walk that talk and those who like George Carlin said go to compare their clothes Sunday morning.

I’m pretty sure you are group 1 and your friends inside are in group 2.

I admire your chutzpah!

    You’ve really struck a chord

Hi Brushog, great decision. I’m late to this party as I am now a once a day visitor to the site and I only clicked on the link because your contributions are generally so worthwhile.  Judging from the feedback you have really struck a chord.

For myself, I intend to stay informed but not inundated. We are coming in to summer here and I’ve recently gone back to sitting outside in the early morning, present with the songs of the birds, the rooster, the geese, the cattle, perhaps the neighbors dog. For this time of the day at least there is peace. After all, where is the one to be upset with the world?

I was just thinking something similar today and not for the first time. I’m not as far along that line of thinking as you brushhog as I’m just starting to realize how much energy I’ve been wasting. Yes, our society is sick and some psychologists are suggesting the sickness must now run its course.

There is a piece of land that I’ve been looking at and a small off-grid house that I think I can afford.  Recently I’ve been noticing more and more hints that it’s time to move further into the country. Been putting it off for too long.

Great post, it was just what I needed to read today, thanks!
