Iraqi Jounalist throws shoes at Bush
I was almost embarrased for him when he was trying to come up with an answer to what he thought about the shoe-thrower … same look on his face during "The Pet Goat" video.
Glad you said "ALMOST" 🙂
Amongst Arabs, throwing the shoe was the most insulting gesture the Iraqi could have made.
Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning in Africa a lion wakes up.
It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle or it will starve.
It doesn’t matter whether you are a gazelle or a lion.
When the sun comes up – you’d better be running!
Ampers, I really like that .. a lot!!
Did you see the way he reacted though? He stands right there, ducks the first shoe, gets right back, stands in place, ducks the second shoe, and pushes his security away. I was impressed. Good reflexes and no sign of fear.
Bush has his wits about him, he is poised and ready. As the first shoe leaves the hand of the journalist GW was looking directly at him. Obviously the journalist must have bent over and removed his shoe and in doing so, GW attention was caught. Yet none of the security guards made a move until the second shoe was hurled.
Pay attention to the journalist and the sentiment of a brave man, who cares more about his country than his own self worth. This simple defiant act has rallied Iraq, who are as we speak marching the streets to free him.
– SIGH –
You know what this means … no more flying with
shoes on. No more going to court with shoes on. No more voting with
shoes on. For these purposes, citizens will be issued special socks
with little plastic soles sewn on the bottom. When you throw them, they
are not heavy enough to injure a government official. This is in
everyone’s best interest. Thanks for your cooperation.
