investment advice disclaimer
I am gearing up to run my first Crash Course series for the town. I am wondering how others have handled the issue of making it clear that there will not be personal investment advice offered. Do you put any kind of disclaimer in your publicity? (We have, but are not sure we need to.) And how do you handle questions from the audience about their personal financial situation? Do you simply say that the person should talk to a professional financial planner?
PS. Here is the disclaimer that went out in our intial round of publicity, "These workshops are for educational purposes only. We are not investment professionals and can therefore not advocate any particular investment products or services. We can, however, offer the tools necessary to learn to trust yourself." Any comments or feedback would be much appreciated.
